Thread: Official Fire Monty Thread

Last night we saw Monty's defensive system work. We were on time with many of our rotations, and it showed. I don't care that it came against a bad offense. Games like this are promising and confidence builders for the team. The only negative I had last night was our rebounding was pretty bad. We've given up so many rebounds on missed FTs the past week, it's driving me crazy.

My deal with monty is his infatuation with Roberts at the point and his non-playing of withey. Matches and a few times doubled steamers production in half the minutes. PER, +\-, eye test, less fouls... All in favor of withey and he's still skinny as a twig. Hopefully the trainers can get him on that weight regiment like Davis, so all we would have to worry about is SF. If monty really think he is Pop, now is the time to throw withey in there and get his bumps and experience, like Pop did to Parker, IMO.

For real let's be honest ...Monty did a terrible job tonight in the 4th . Even the Monty defenders should be able to admit to that . He was awful
Dell Demps PLEASE get us some scorers!

Reminded of that Laker game that should never be mentioned until Monty does something just as bad. Pitiful.

It could be worse, we could be the Bucks.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

Well if Monty didn't hate Tyreke, his chest (read: heart) wouldn't be hurt

I think I could live with getting a top pick in the draft, man.

At least they know they suck, but we suck because of incompetent coaching. the only way we get better is to beat the good teams not just the bad ones.

    I'm on board, do it.

I mean, I'm not standing up for him or anything, but I usually feel his struggles as a head coach are exaggerated. Tonight though? I don't have the first idea where to even start. From the lack of Morrow down the stretch, to letting Parker continually abuse Roberts, to playing Roberts over Rivers, having AD chase Bonner around the perimeter, etc etc etc. Just pathetic.

Monty is a great coach who is teaching our players all sorts of neet stuff. Were so lucky to have such a captain at the helm. Fall in line boys, we should be greatful for these performances. You can't get fries, but you can take comfort in knowing we are losing the right way.

    Official Fire Monty Thread

I think Monty's in game decisions sometimes are based on his longterm plans of development, such as not letting younger players in crunch time because he's trying to teach them a thing or two about possibly the pecking order, building confidence and trust in certain players, or knowing things we don't know about players. I've seen Pop do similar things to show confidence in the system he's built based on the long term plan of things rather than to win a regular season game, I could be wrong but it seems like Monty's going for the same thing, he's looking at the bigger picture not just one game when he makes strange decisions that we don't understand but maybe the players do.
