Look I'm fine with people bashing Monty for legitimate reasons, there are plenty, but come on. You can't just blame Monty for everything. It weakens your argument.
Careful, bro, you must not watch games

What happened? Did Monty do anything particularly awful?

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."

Seriously?? We are 1 of the top offenses in the entire nba. Our defense is our problem. Not offense. Did u just start watching tonight or what?

We are 9th in offense efficiency (we're better than GS, which surprises me). So I think we're pretty good, yeah.

ALSO: what's up with all these threads lately? Is it troll season or something?

The offensive success I believe is due to the talent of the players we have and not any systematic or strategic offense that Monty has implemented. How often do you see this team or any in the past come out of a timeout and run a play Monty draws up successfully? I can assure you it is very few. How is it that quality head coaches can win games with his second and third string options and we struggle even when we are mostly at full strength? I watch Pop pull his top three guys just to give them rest and he still finds ways to win against quality teams. I don't think Monty retained much from working under Pop because he is a master of matching up players he has against opponents and finding the right mix of rotations to counter what the other team is having success at and taking that away from them. Monty is supposed to be a defensive minded coach but how many times do we have to watch his guys overcommit and double the ball handler while leaving a wide open 3pt shooter sitting alone behind the line, I can tell you it is more than I care to count. And this is not something we are just seeing this year it has been a trademark of every Monty coached team since he has been here. Sorry for my rant but I have just had enough and unfortunately it appears it is only going to continue to get worse. I have heard from more than a few sources now that AD's parents have seen enough of Monty and I can only imagine AD will be out of here after his rookie contract because it appears with the new contract dumb dumb just started he will be here for the same amount of time as AD.

I know it is hard to imagine that without our star ad. Our starting pg Jrue. best shooter Ryan. And pretty good big off bench Jason that we weren't good tonight.

I don't like Monty. But tonight isn't the reason. What did u expect ?

I love this argument. Anything he does is because of talent. Anything he doesn't do is because of him.

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

U should grab his post from the game thread today and put it in your sig. The one where he actually calls ppl out for flip flopping on players. It'd be an epic sig.

Monty is a great coach. We had 4starters and 3 all stars out today. This team healthy by now would have been a 3 seed. Monty has the potential to be the next great coach, and im sure AD and they guys love him. His play calling skills may be questionable, but he will learn throughout time Benson and company knows that. So what if we never win the championship or AD leaves us, we will always have Monty because he is a great guy, never changes his ways in pressured moments, and he has a good heart. That makes him a great coach. He is the true face of the franchise

You guys on this board need to show this man some damn respect, and be proud of what he will bring us in the future.

There is a support Monty thread somewhere on this board. I'll try to bump it for you.

So tell all of us what system Monty runs on offense or some resemblance of it? Maybe the triangle system that Phil Jackson used for all his successful seasons or maybe a hybrid version of a Princeton system? Tell us which resemblance do you see of any type of offense that is run in the NBA or college that Monty is implementing here? All I see is the same few formations depending on who is in the game and who handles the ball. Nothing strategic or innovative in what we are seeing here, it is up to the athletic ability of the players to carry out what he is doing to be successful.

My favourite part of Monty's defensive system is when Davis way over commits at the top of the key leaving a gaping hole in the middle and everyone else scrambling madly to cover open shooters.

So they're running around aimlessly and relying on their athleticism to score in the top 10 (when healthy) but on defense we're bottom 10 and the athleticism doesn't matter. Dude you've had it out for monty for 2-3 seasons now; you're so biased it's not even worth arguing over.

I have had it for a head coach of our NBA team who we got by prior ownership that was looking at his budget instead of what was best for the team. Unfortunately you have limited basketball IQ and a internet connection. If you want to try making me sound stupid as your condescending post do then back your comments up with some substance. So please tell all of us what type of offensive system do you see that Monty has implemented here? Besides a few set plays and a poor excuse for a high pick and roll what is it besides the talent on this team that we have a really good offense? Where are the problems on defense and why does it appear to be the same breakdowns every game? Please do tell.

At what point do you just say he can't do it? Even if the work during the week pays off, it's not translating completely during the game, not to mention the biggest problem- in game adjustments. He's not the long-term answer. He probably never will be in my opinion. Maybe he will, but he will be forced to rethink things and it won't happen this go-around. Time to make a change. Take a chance on an up-and-comer.
