Quit giving minutes to guys like Steamer, who are most not likely going to be on the team next year.

They might show up to like 2 more games than normal, and when they realize 60% of our starting lineup is out still and we keep losing they'll stop showing up again. I love the faux coaches saying what a good rotation and half time adjustment is or assuming he's not making halftime adjustments. Are they in the locker room? I mean i'm sure it's Monty losing the games and not the boneheaded plays our players constantly make. Again not saying Monty is the cure but people get backup quarterback syndrome far too much in sports.

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

I don't think any is arguing he isn't making half time adjustments... just that he sucks at making half time adjustments.

I mean the guy can't win.
His rotations have been questionable since he stepped foot in New Orleans. I am not sure he can coach in game. Every timeout he looks to the assistants. He seems very unsure of himself at times. I think he is better suited as an assistant. He was originally brought here because he was cheap and the team was going through a transition. We have a lot of talent now and need a solid coach to develop them. Is he the answer?

Agreed. I would prefer he doing nothing during half time since it looks like he just doesn't want the hot-handed guy shoot the ball in the second half. It happens to Gordon a lot and it happened to Anthony Davis tonight.

Is he? I don't know... I don't think he is, but I'd like to see what he can do with a fully healthy squad. As of now I have no idea because his players stay hurt. And that's one of the many reasons why he'll be coaching again next year.

Which has been my point the entire debate. Regardless of what fans think of the guy he has a few built-in excuses for why he will maintain his position.

    1) The team is young
    2) the main players stay injured
    3) He's in year 1 of a multi-year contract

The whole "Fire Monty" movement is moot.

Actually we are not that close from being eliminated since we only played 39 games and there are 43 games left.

I would actually like to apologize for taking comments too personal on this forum last month. I got out of hand and a break(vacation) was exactly what I needed. Thank you to FlyGirl and PelicanFan for giving me another chance.

Perhaps Monty should take a vacation. It does work!

If he sticks around next year he'd probably be on a short leash

Man we lost 8 str8 games I'm done for the year I see y'all next season hope without Monty Williams

http://instagram.com/p/jVZ4ggkZf6/# This is an example of a good coach. You don't just sit in your seat on the side lines and be quiet. If you see your player mess up tell the while they're on court like pops and thibs. Monty would watch guys make a mistake and just be quite then wait till the play is broken to address it.

Agreed. The guy has run into awful luck since agreeing to be the coach of this team. But there comes a time where we would need to go a different direction if it's not settled by the end of next season.

Lol, "if". But yes, I think he will.

This is the point I tried to make about a month ago before Holiday, Anderson, and Smith all went down. I'd add that Benson as a NFL franchise owner hasn't shown a quick trigger with HC's. Not sure if this has changed or will spill over to his NBA franchise. Either way we just re-signed Williams can't see him getting canned after the 1st year period especially with this rash of injuries.

Right, and I'll add that... I don't think the organization believes this roster is "final". I'm sure they know that we had a crater at the center position going into the season, and that we have a ton of young players that are still learning how to play together, and how to play the NBA game.

No way could they think that we'd be contending for a ring now, and in no way could they imagine the rash of injuries that we'd get. So now you have bench guys playing more minutes, and while nobody wants to admit it... the fact that this team is playing close games against top flight teams is impressive. Whether you want to give Monty credit for it or not... its impressive, and the front office sees this.

The team DOES have talent, but just not enough especially with the starting PG and team's best shooter out. You can blame Monty for poor rotations (does he have a set rotation with these injuries?)... you can blame him for not making adjustments (I do think he needs some work there)... but he has NOT lost this team. Once the coach's message goes in one ear and out the other, then its time to move on.

He still has this team's attention.

    This season sucks..

I just don't understand how do you get worse in your 4TH season as head coach when in one offseason the organization provided you the financing to add talent to the roster AND built you a new practice facility? I can see if this was a 1st year head coach but in your 4TH year?

  20. #720
Knicks has been doing much better since their fans had the "fire woodson" chant~ maybe we should try that.
I know that hurts but just I don't want to see tank at all & he really should do something to avoid the same losses.

Anyone else notice Tom Benson has not been sitting courtside this past 3 games?

This post man. You are so far biased towards your opinion it's not even funny. You can't see how, with all of the injuries how we could be worse?
I'll leave you be, but i'm very glad you're not my boss.

Not to mention two slightly different teams. But whatever, there is no worse deaf than he who does not want to hear

  24. #724
I think Monty's contract extension may end up not factoring into the decision to fire him. Any reasonable owner would realize that this is not his first year, and that it shouldn't be treated as such merely because of an ill-timed extension.

He's tired of seeing the losing it's not what he paid for. I was at the Wizards game and during half time of the blow out he left and didn't return.
