I think that reply was to the guy that said he said Monty needed to go 3 years ago. Which, to me, says he didn't give Monty a chance to begin with. Surely Monty had to have been here only a short time before his decision was already made.

Monty reminds me of scott with his stiff rotations that dont take into account the current situation in the game besides fouls and he also keeps talking about effort

It isn't a few months. He was given the benefit of the doubt when he had less talent. With higher expectations, people will be more harsh. Personally, I don't think Monty's coaching style (at least what we have seen so far) is productive with our players. He has continuously made questionable decisions with his rotations. I'm not going to point out all of the major flaws with him, but I believe most of the people calling for his head aren't just judging off of this season. I personally never understood the widespread praise he was given. To be honest, he has given me no reason to consider him one of the best young coaches in the league.

Just to prove that i ain't one to fire monty after a loss, up 61-55 at half time and im so so upset with montys defensive coaching 55 POINTS AGAINST SIXERS IN A HALF!?! we should be up by 15 atleast the way we are playing offensively

Why do people think players are robots and are doing exactly what they're being programmed to do? Players have accountability as well.

That stat don't count for a H.C. The wins and losses count for a H.C. How do you lose to the Jazz and suns twice? I'm still riding the Monty ship wherever it brings us.

I know, that's why I was making fun of it. You lose to bad teams like the Jazz and the Suns because it happens. The games get played for a reason and all the Jazz. The Utah loss was bad, because we were their first loss, but it's not like the Suns were playing bad basketball when we lost to them. It's a long season, and sometimes it takes awhile for bad teams to find out that they're bad. Same as every other season

How are you a defensive minded coach with one of the worse team defense in the league. Monty seems like a great assistant coach but a horrible head coach. He can't get the most out of his players and his offensive sets are a joke.

I can't remember verbatim but they were talking about the possibility of NY firing Mike Woodson, and JVG said that (paraphrasing) no matter how poor the players play the coach is always the fall guy. A coach can put players in positions for success but if the player screws it up the coach is the blame. And how they need to start cutting players rather than firing coaches. He said this during the game he was calling last night... I agreed with him 1000%.

Except that all those player contracts (for the most part) are guaranteed.

Coaches know this going in. They can't physically play the game so they are then responsible for all the mental aspects of the game. Is it always their fault of course not, but they are paid handsomely to be the intellectual fall guys.
