call me optimistic, but that makes me think he is picking us. If he knows he is gonna announce tomorrow, why not announce today? Unless, its us, and we did not want him to overshadow the jersey unveiling.

I think we can win this race. We offer more money, new facilities, familiarity with Monty, young core to grow with. He is 25, not a 38 year old man (even though looks differ), so I don't think he is dying to win a title, he just wants to make a name for himself in the league other than "bust".

Greg Oden to decide on team tomorrow, reports Yahoo! A source tells me he's torn between Miami and New Orleans.

Oden has been considering the Heat, Pelicans, Spurs, Hawks, Mavs, and Kings. Miami and New Orleans are frontrunners, Spurs are third.

So if he's picking a team tomorrow I'm guessing offers have been made to him? Or will the offers be made to him tomorrow? Surely he can't be picking a team unless an offer has been made to him right?
Everyone references his relationship with Monty, but in that article that wuggie posted about a one-on-one with Greg Oden, didn't he express his displeasure with the Blazers as a whole?
The Owner, HC, and Training Staff? Yes, he dislikes them because they pushed him so hard to come back before he was ready. However, I wouldn't could Monty in that group because he is notorious for not playing guys when they are seriously injured. He was a player, and he tried to play through an injury that he shouldn't have, and it really messed with his career (and the rest of his life). Monty would never do that to another player. So, if you have an ankle sprain, suck it up, but if you have a serious injury, he's cool with you taking your sweet time to rehab correctly - see Eric Gordon, Anthony Davis, and Jason Smith.
Plus, Monty was his position coach, so they worked together very closely.
"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

Being the pessimist that i am, I just can't see him choosing the Pelicans. I really would love Oden to join the team though. But if I close my eyes really hard and concentrate... yeah i see him in a Heat jersey. Sitting on the bench. Sitting next to Juwan Howard. I'm sorry... "Two Time NBA Champion Juwan Howard" I really hope I'm wrong though.![]()
He's probably waiting to see the jerseys. If they are too plain he will pick the heat.
Being the optimist that i am, I just can't see him not choosing the Pelicans. I would like Oden to join the team given his potential. But if I close my eyes really hard and concentrate... yeah i see him in a Pelicans jersey. Out on the court. Banging with Dwight Howard. I really hope I'm right too.

In 2 years the Heat will be totally irrelevant. We're gearing up for a long run. Jump on the train now while you can Oden.
If Oden actually does decide to come to New Orleans. I think he'd instantly be apart of the NOLA 4 Horsemen. Almost new thread starter idea, who would you put in the NOLA 4 Horsemen? I'd make Holiday be the Flair or tully Blanchard or switch him with Davis. Also put in Jason Smith due to how long he's been with the group. And either Oden or Ryno as the 4th guy.
The New Wave of Pelican Power!
