Don't know how you can assume anything when someone says it's a fluid situation.

John Salmon, the agent for Knicks restricted free agent Chris Copeland, said he spoke with Pelicans general manager Dell Demps earlier this week but no offer was extended. Salmon said he doesn’t think the Pelicans are going to do anything else until Evans’ makes a decision.``We’ll see what happens, but they got to wait on Tyreke because they’ve already put out an offer sheet for him,’’ Salmon by telephone Wednesday.``They gave Tyreke a lot of money in his offer and I don't think they're going to do anything until he accepts or denies.'' New Orleans Times-Picayune

On the flip side, maybe it means some FA's who want to come here/see how much we'd offer are waiting on the Tyreke situation.

Dang... so since the offer is out there we can't pull it? This dude is handcuffing our ability to do much else.

Interesting thing about all of these big money deals that these guys like AI, Josh Smith, and others are getting. Sure they are getting big money deals, but they are getting them from bad teams. The Kings, the Pistons, etc., these are all teams that aren't winning any time soon. But the comical bit is that they go back to their old teams asking for similar money and can't get it because their old team has money tied up in other guys that are helping them win now. They want to have their cake and eat it too, and it can't work like that.

Should be fun to see most of these guys turn down big money, or go to bad teams. It will be very telling.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

People need to realise that all those FAs that agree to a contract for now are not interested by the Pels in the first place (or Pels aren't interested).

It is pretty clear that Dell met/called the agents of all the FAs he is interested in and everyone knows we won't be able to sign anyone until the Reke situation and the Lopez situation are resolved. The last one has a "soft" deadline which ends friday so at least by waiting this WE we should have some insight.

For instance, it is pretty clear Copeland is intrigued by us as he has said several times he won't rush any decisions despite Pacers effort.

Maybe, but in reality, the FAs are not going to wait for us to get our house in order. If they get acceptable offers, they will move on. I just hope we have a realistic shot at Evans and are not being used by him and his agent as leverage to try and increase the value of a deal with Sacramento.

This seems to not have an end and it has only been for 2-3 days lol.

I bet his agent didn't know he was going to be in this much demand.
