Don't understand why they would match considering who they just drafted and who they having coming off the bench. Sign-and trade for Grevis sounds like their best option to get an asset for a player they no longer need.

If the Kings match, Evans doesn't have a choice, whether he wanted to stay or not.

His only other option is to accept the one year qualifying offer, which would cost him around $5m this season and give him no future protection in the event of a bad injury. I can't think of the last time a player decided to go this route.

Second, what do you want him to say? "I'd prefer to go to New Orleans?" Did you like it when Gordon said his heart was in Phoenix?

The guy said if the kings make the same offer as the Pelicans, Evans would sign with the Kings because he prefers to say. Since Evans haven't agreed to the Pelican's offer, the Kings can still make him an offer.
