I think Benson told Dell he would put up the money if we make this team exciting to watch. Let's face it. A Memphis Grizzlies grit and grind type of team isn't going to sell tickets in a city with a NFL franchise like the Saints who are arguably the most fun team to watch in the league with their fast pace offense. Makes sense and there is no doubt in my mind that ticket sales will skyrocket as long as they put on a show.
One of the small forwards in this tier will sign in three weeks for 1/2 the price these guys are getting and will perform as well or better.
I want THAT guy!

If Dell met with Iggy and found his expectation to be a max deal, then I couldn't be happier with our contract to 'Reke. I just wonder where the Kings go from here, seems foolish to pay that kind of $ when they have no real shot at winning anytime soon. Definitely fits, but there aren't many pieces that wouldn't be an upgrade for them.
No one is going to get into a bidding war for Budinger. Now off the market are him, Webster and soon Brewer and others, while we would be waiting if there were 'no rush' to determine what's going on.
Yes, the longer you wait the more likely the player is to get more money. That's what happens while you 'wait' with your offer on the table, they shop and it either goes higher or they take yours...it certainly doesn't go lower so higher is the only possibility.
I'm baffled at how you don't see this as arguing against yourself:
"If player is offered substantially more money elsewhere but they want to see how the chips fall, does a player sign the cheaper deal because its on the table or do they wait?"
Implying a player will wait to determine whether they can get more money from other teams before going back to the 'on the table' offer. In other words, driving the money higher or at worst staying the same.
"Does the longer you wait on a player mean the player gets more money ? (I don't think this typically holds true)"
...yet here you say that usually they don't get more money when your previous statement implies they either get more money or take the offer that's on the table (meaning it can only possibly go up)??
I'm curious as to when a player has waited and recieved less money. A player that was actually wanted. There are 30 teams, one player...players that are sought after get teams into bidding wars. That's how it works.

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

I've noticed Wilbon is not a fan of the team. He's talked about us needing to move or contract on more than one occasion.
Basically a 50/50 split if he's a good fit. MacMullan and Plaschke think the league is moving to 3 guard norm, and that he fits that role here. Paige/Gutierrez thinks hes still a good player, but think it's too much $ for a backup, even though they mentioned it's potentially for a Manu Ginobli-type role.

I find that most on ESPN don't really talk about much outside of their big 10 topics, they just spout off ignorance. We just got a new owner, rebranded, have probably the most promising young player in the game, an extremely young roster, great coach, new facility...yet we should be contracted...yeah ok, Wilbon.
They like Tiger, Lebron, A-Rod, The Heat, Yankees, Cowboys and Romo...whatever other drama is going on, currently Hernandez. Actual sports you are better off on the internet.
To be fair, they actually didn't make fun of the name at all.
Considering what ESPN has normally had to say about this franchise over the last few years... it was amazing how they just talked about our FA activity like we were just another team. It's a great problem to have.![]()
Updating a previous item, sources tell the Sacramento Bee that the Kings are considering matching Tyreke Evans' reported four-year, $44 million offer from the Pelicans.

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."
