Thread: Pelicans to meet with Tyreke Evans (offer has been made)

If he start at SF, it's only because nobody want Gordon.. Who would want a max contract with so much injurys ? Hopefully he will be healthy for 20 games, and it will be easier for Dell to trade him...
He has a really long arm span though

Can move GV and Lopez and take 4 million back and still have the 10.3 million for Tyreke's 1st year. Just food for thought. Could put those guys in a package for a SF or C making 4 or less, then use room exception to sign the other piece

So, we either move Gordon or we become the Sacramento Kings. What will it be?
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

Would be some stuff if we do all this and the Kings match anyway.

100 guards, and 2 big men (this is assuming we are moving Lopez, and not moving Gordon).

Calm down, it's a long FA period.
    Wherehappens.

I am aware we are only in the infant stages, I am just saying that the thought of keeping Gordon, while making moves for more guards and subtracting our big would only equall the what the Kings have to deal with on a yearly basis. Obviously we are moving some people, I just hope Gordon and his contract are one of them (contrary to what people here think with this move).

The OKC model doesn't happen that much, you can't just draft or just do FA'y. You have to draft, make some good deals and sometimes overpay. You take chances to WIN. The Heat did it and succeeded. The Lakers did and failed. But you won't hit it if you never swing.

We have talent now that we did not have last year, let's see what they can do. We are trying to win games, not have the leagues smartest and most balanced payroll. Get the players here, period. Demps is doing that.

I also love that the people who {edited-language} about these moves are the same ones who cry when we suck. This team is very promising. Guys really want to save money for who??? Lebron isn't coming here. Dwight isn't coming here. This is our only shot to win, get over it.

"Save money, save money, be smart so we can make a move..." FOR WHAT? Sorry but when you're a NO Pelicans fan this is your move. A mix of good drafting and overpaying guys is our shot. Otherwise we are the Clippers from before CP3, always waiting on talent to evolve and then it leaves as it comes. And people like to say SA or OCK, those teams hit with once in a generation players, it's luck. Hopefully we have that with AD, but I don't get how anyone can be upset by this move.

Is it a lot for Evans, yes. Is it a lot for Evans to come to NO, no.
I agree with you , everyone is worried about this and that be glad we are upgrading this team and are bring in talent instead of doing nothing and being in the lottery every year . Let the team make the moves they feel they need to make and let's get behind them and all our players . I'm excited about this team !!

Can we really get Jrue and Reke on the stage for the introductions? Man this has been a crazy offseason already.

  11. #1061
It seems like people are saying

"The trade for Jrue means the team is dedicated to Gordon."
"The move for Reke means the team is not moving Gordon."
"By trading away Gordon the team really plans on keeping him."

The team is looking to move him and GV. We should be happy about this.

I sincerely hope this does not involve Lopez. He is the only thing we have that resembles an NBA center. I hate to lose Vasquez but I understand. Gordon can go fly a kite. Just don't trade Lopez. He's a good big on a great contract. Why?

I survived Katrina, but nothing I owned did.

Agree. Gordon is gone. If he gets hurt again, we will be stuck with him and his contract for nada.

Take this with a grain of salt, but friend of mine told me he saw on twitter that Suns are interested in Gordon again, and would do a Gortat for Gordon swap. Grain of salt.

I am in the same boat. Our guards from last year can go (I hate saying that about GV seeing how much he grew, and can keep growing), but to lose Lopez...we must have plans on landing a pretty nice big.

But those guys are trade pieces. We will be able to unload them, and knowing Demps, he will get his guys.

Fwiw - the Pelicans still have a framed Bobby Phills jersey hanging up in the Alario Center. Not sure if it makes the trip to the new facility, but it's there.

Anybody know anything about Tyreke's attitude? Hopefully a change of scenery will do him good because apparently he's been accused of being a problem in the locker room in the past.

Just read that the Spurs are actually about to get him. So nevermind.

God I hate twitter, person "A" says one thing as well as they can in as few words as possible, minus the details of course like who they heard it from(whether it is actually credible or not), person "B" says something contradictory in the same manor, some people only see A, others only B, at each others' throats arguing, both sides end up wrong because no one saw person "C" (for credible)'s tweet because he doesn't exist on twitter
    never assume

Why do you keep using this phrase? Is it well-known that elves are old? I've never associated them with this phrase or line of thought? What's up with that!
