PER is a made up statistic that has it's flaws just like every other stat in a certain context. It's great for evaluating 2 players with similar skill sets, but saying how much PER per game someone gave up, come on now.

Aminu's best chance of staying on the floor in the NBA is playing in a faced pace lineup with enough shooters to space the floor for him. His ideal frontcourt partner is Anderson, who has the offensive skillset of a sharpshoting wing but lacks skills to defend the perimiter. Aminu is his exact contrast, having the offensive skillset of a reboudning, put-back bigman but better suited at defending the perimter.

Offensively, Anderson would play the "3" and Aminu would play the "4."

Defensively, Anderson would play the "4" and Aminu would play the "3."

Combine that with a mobile bigman like Smith who is kinda a middle ground to both of their skillsets, and you have the makings of a great rotation of the two.

    Evans/Rivers
    Deng/Budinger OR Copeland/Miller
    Davis/Anderson/Thomas
    Lopez/Smith
Good call, I was just thinking of this mutual trade as probably the best we can get for Gordon at this point and Deng fits the SF need and provides that veteran leadership that people talk about with the Iguodala option.

Even after the signing and trade, I think Kevin Martin would still be a great affordable option if he would agree to come off the bench in a 6th man role. He's a lights-out 3-pt. shooter, and Pels need a second reliable specialist other than Anderson. Maybe a S&T with Lopez could clear up some cap room for it, and Thunder could use a capable 7ft. Center in Lopez. Re-sign ol' boy Aminu for a better-suited back-up energy PF/SF; and maybe a cheap 3rd string C option.

    Davis/ Smith/ Amundson
    Anderson/ Aminu
    Deng/ Miller/ Athlete
    Evans/ Martin/ Mason Jr.
    Holiday/ Rivers/ Jackson

I don't think the Kings will let him go for the price the reports are coming out with.

Here's the deal, we have an owner in place who wants to win not in the future, but now. He's up there in age and would like to see his NBA team become as successful as his NFL one has. He's going to spend some money doing it.

I think you are missing the concept that we're signing him as a SF. We would sign a cheap SF to start (maybe bring back Aminu), then bring Evans off the bench at the 3. He'd also play the 3 for us during crunch time at the end of games (last 5 minutes or so).

You're right... I forgot about him. He'll definitely get his 30+ minutes... that's for sure. The main point being that whoever gets the nod at the 3 will be playing less minutes than Lopez... almost like a true 6th man minutes somewhere around 15-18 per game. Lopez could also see a solid 5 minute cut from the 28-30 he was averaging to almost under 25. Which is still good.

We've been on the same page all day. I was JUST about to post this. I totally agree - I definitely don't trust Aldridge's "sources."

The New Orleans Pelicans' offer sheet to Tyreke Evans is four years and $48 million, according to @sam_amick. Wow.

Well I was operating under the assumption that he (or his agent) said that he would not sign with any team that plans on using him primarily as a SF. That notion as since been corrected. Carry on.

    Where?

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

    4/48 is insanity. Pure insanity.

They are moving Gordon. No ifs ands or buts about it.

Lmao, it's getting higher and higher...

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."

Well what I guess I am failing to see is that you said defensively Davis was better at center than PF. This is saying per possession they were equal. Which one of these stats that tries to prove your point am I supposed to believe. Again I watched the game and it was my opinion that Davis struggled when he was defending starting caliber centers.

Absolutely ridiculous if true. Maybe it took Tyreke this long to agree to it because he was too busy laughing at the offer thinking it was a joke. Hopefully this is not true. If it is, I am getting concerned that Demps may need Stern to slap him back to reality again.
