wingspan doesn't mean nothing if he doesn't use it... that's like Thabeet being 7'3 and you saying "you can't teach being 7'3"

That remains to be seen. I'd prefer Gordon if he's healthy, but say we start the season winning 16/20 and then suddenly lose Gordon for the rest of the season... I can't imagine any scenario where we have Tyreke that could make me that mad and disappointed.

Yeah I edited my post with % of games possible games played. His stat was very skewed.

Why can't he use it? I am starting to wonder if you have ever seen Evans play because he is not a bad defender.

Frankly because it's easier to hope LeBron misses from 3 than to try and guard his drives to the lane. Which, frankly, I'd say Evans is the only person above 6'6" on LeBron's level in getting to the rim and finishing.
Don't ever say that again now you are really over doing it

2 watching this dude with the clippers...the dude could actually shoot the ball well... Well enough to as I don't even know why we are even talking about Evans
I see you're backing Gordon 100%, and that's cool, but the problem is even if Gordon shoots 80% from the floor and 60% from 3 point range... the chances of him playing 82 games are ZERO %. The chances of him playing 70 games are about the same. I don't know the numbers... but his injury history says that he'll miss time.

Putting their most current numbers side-by-side... which would you prefer? The dude that puts up those numbers over 70+ games? Or the dude that MIGHT play half of the season?

yea I have seen the dude play but be honest who defense is better... and its not just about the defense its about his offense too... I just don't think he can stretch the floor like we need

If the competition for Reke's services is between us, the Kings and Pistons I think we will win.

    edit:

    17 teams interested?

While the Kings wouldn’t mind re-signing him at a fair price, the interest in Evans is mounting quickly. James Ham of Cowbell Kingdom reports that as many as 17 teams are looking at Evans.

Make a discussion out of it. Who would you put to the list? Durant? Melo?

I agree that Gordon is the better one on one defender, but the drop off isn't significant enough to make me automatically say we should stay with Gordon. Evans does things better than Gordon on offense and vice versa. It is about who is the better fit for us and who we can rely to be on the floor.

I don't care how much better Gordon can shoot than Tyreke, because at the end of the day, we're paying Gordon a crap load of money to play less than half of the NBA season, rather pay a guy who has some type of talent and will actually see the court for majority of the season.

Let's just re-focus this conversation a little bit. We are talking about outside shooting for floor spacing purposes here. Let's not get carried away into the Gordon is so much better period.

Tyreke was better than Eric Gordon in nearly every single possible statistical way last year. Tyreke had a true shooting percentage of 55.8% vs Gordon's 52.3%, and a PER of 18.16 vs 15.43.

Tyreke is younger, cheaper, taller, injury free, better attitude and on and on.

Now if we want to talk about outside jump shots, I agree that I have more confidence in Gordon. I just don't think it's near the problem, #1, and certainly not a large enough difference to overcome the other 25 things, #2.

Thank you. That was my bottom line in my previous post.

Its like this over two years ppl have been defending Ej and now that he has a chance to play with a all-star a person to take the pressure off of him ppl want to move him... the dude is a beast he is really our wild card on the play-offs.... Not to knock off Evans but I really think Ej can finally show us why he is a max player... I mean the dude got invited to become apart of team USA the dude gotta be special... Maybe I am wrong

Eric Gordon's skill isn't the issue. It's his ability to stay on the court and his willingness to even be a part of this organization.

I don't think that anyone is denying that when Gordon is healthy, he is an all-star talent guy. But the fact is that in the last 2 seasons (148 games) he has played in 51 games.

He wasn't happy with Blake and Blake was playing a WAY more efficient game than Gordon. Still is to be honest.

I'd love to see what he can do at 100% healthy but his history says that he's not gonna stay that way. And I don't think our opinions matter when it comes to dealing him. If Dell and Monty are trying to trade him, then either EG has asked to move, or the organization has decided to move on.

Hearing from a trusted source that Tyreke Evans could be signing an offer sheet with the New Orleans Pelicans by as early as tonight

    Jimmy Spencer‏@JimmySpencerNBA3m
Also to clarify, he would AGREE to sign the offer sheet. He couldn't officially sign until July 10. Evans meets w/ Pistons and Kings today

tyreke showed improvements on his jumpshot this year, he just turned 23, his jumpshot will continue to improve over the next couple of years, if he hits his prime at 25 and is shooting around 35% from 3 he would be an absolute steal for 11million a year, he does everything very well.

So anybody don't think Jrue will take the pressure off of Ej... but hey if we do get Evans then I hope he proves me wrong... but 11 mil for a person that decreased every year from his rookie year is too much..
