Tyreke Evans = our Manu Ginoblli, Kevin Martin, J.R Smith and Jamaal Crawford. Well at least I hope. He give our bench that hmmm. Tyreke shake a guy drive to the goal and pass it out to Ryno for 3! Then you have a lineup up of Holiday, Gordon, Evans, Anderson and Davis to finish out a game. I hopes he's coming in as a 6th man, it'll be better for our team IMO.
2013-1014 is the season the Pelicans fanbase grows!!!!

They've already said he's coming to play the 3 if he signs !

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

    Neither will I.

    Man I was so pumped.

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."

One thing I worry about with Evans at the 3 is that our rebounding looks pretty bad on paper.

Holiday is a solid rebounder for his position, Gordon is bad, Evans would be below average for his position, Davis is good, and Lopez is bad.

Am I the only one to trade Holiday and Evans to the Hornets on 2k?

    Way too fun.

    Hornets: 3; Heat: 0

You can see any of my several "Pelicans will trade Eric Gordon for nothing more than cap space" posts over the last 4 days to see how this is going to play out...

Tyreke is better than Gordon because he's reliable. You don't build a playoff team dependent on a guy who hasn't played an entire seasons since High School. Tyreke makes this team a playoff team, especially when we improve at SF.

Signing Tyreke would have nothing to do with trading Gordon. They're gonna play next to each other.

Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams

Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston

Right now on paper they will...but would give the Pelicans options when listening to Gordon offers.

    That is true.

I'd start out at 4 yrs for 34 then if I had to I'd work up to 4 yrs for 38 and that would be my stopping point. If he's not good with DeRozan money than tell him he can go play for a team like DeRozan's.

I love this move. Either he plays the 3 or runs the show as the 6th man.

I'm intrigued to know what this "BIG" offer is however. Isn't his restricted offer only something like 3.1?

I think that logjam at the Wing might make them hesitant to match something like 7 million.

Let's Trade Gordon for a future 2020 1st round pick to draft this kid. I think its worth it. He got potential. He's dunking already.

I only play the heat too

he can play multiple positions...and we do like versatility

It's particularly interesting given how similar the makeup of the two teams would be with Evans on board.

  20. #345
    we want him at S
I understand some folks concern about spacing if Tyreke were on board. But the way I see it is he offers us versatility for one.

BUT MAINLY as our sg which enables us to go after a SF with a more limited game such as a sharp shooter ala alan Anderson, kyle korver, ect.

You guys gotta realize that despite the differences of what one considers a SG and SF, they still simply play differing sides of the court.

AND ONCE AGAIN it would be a move with other moves involved.

    Jrue Holliday
    Tyreke Evans
kyle korver, matt barnes, mike Dunleavy, yada yada.

Theoretically it may look bad at first; but he could play SF, back up SG and PG till the deadline then play SG or SF pending onwhat we get for Gordon Vasquez or whatever.

Imagine what he can do on a good team and not be surrounded by knuckle heads like Cousins & Thornton. We have never had someone with his talent on this team. It's not like he can't shoot it! When Andre Iguodala was 23 he couldn't shoot it at all and I wouldn't confuse him with a sharp shooter at 29. He shot better from 3 last year than Iggy did and got to line more. When he did get to the line, he shot it way better than Iggy. Reke scored 17.6 ppg on 45% to Iggy's 13.3 ppg on 46%. Reke shot 34% for 3 and Iggy shot 32%. Reek shot 78% from the line and Iggy shot 57%

    Iggy: 5.8 boards, 4.9 assists, 1.7 steals
    Reke: 4.8 boards, 4.8 assists, 1.4 steals
The difference is Iggy did it on a good team while Reke did it on a bad team so his stats are inflated

    Holiday
    Evans
    Iggy

Looks a lot better to me than

    Holiday
    Gordon
    Evans

Oh Eric Gordon, we hardly knew ye. And we hardly did, he played like 6 games for us when his heart wasnt in PHX. I welcome a backcourt of Jrue and Evans.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

The second lineup spaces the floor better than the first lineup.

I may be late on this, but at the very least, we haven't been giving out large contracts to older players on the downside of their careers. They have all been guys with at least some upside still remaining.
