Not a fan of Len. Also I think Davis' future is at PF.
I'll tell you why a player like Len makes sense. If you truly feel that Davis is the 4 of the future, then I'm sure you aren't so high on Lopez as the center of the future. Jason Smith contract will be up soon and he could very well cost as much as Lopez to keep.
Now here's the biggest factor. We all know how expensive NBA centers can be and how hard it is to acquire a good one. It's very rare to find a good center outside of the lottery and when Lopez and his contract is up, you'll have to replace him. Seeing that we shouldn't be in the lottery in two years at our pace, it kills your flexibility to have to go find a suitable replacement.
It's a lot easier to find a guard or wing outside of the lottery compared to a prototypical big man with the skillset. Now I'm not advocating that we select Len but I don't think it's a bad idea to take a guy that could man the position with Davis for the next decade. I don't know if Len that type of player but I can see why it is considered an attractive option.
Len? I'd rather trade down myself
I'm sure it's a little more involved than just the team trainers giving Len the 'ole once over. Any player that has or is recovering from and injury is sent to doctors and specialist who are 'likely' experts in the field of that particular injury and they asses and give their reports to the team. The doctor that preformed the opreation will be consulted as will the rehab doctors and all that will be compaired with similar injuries and player histories etc.

Yes but are these 'likely experts' held accountable like the personnel of our medical staff should/would be?
I think not.
At the end of the day its just their opinion whether or not they think the player will have reoccurring problems
and if they are wrong......oh well.
Nobody can be 100% sure.
I can assure you those Doctors have just as much riding on it, maybe more. A couple bad calls and its not just getting let go from your team, your entire practice comes under fire and you stop being viewed as an expert. That's not to say mistakes ant happen, but being a sports doctor is big business that is entirely built around how good you are.
Ive watched Len maybe thrice, and he was not very impressive when i watched him. He does not stand out, and he did not show me anything to justify picking him. I think he will be a massive bust, but thats just my opinion. (No- i would not take Adams a 6... I just wish we had a later pick to grab him).
And what games were that? Cause the national televised ones against UK and Duke he dominated. And the last two games of the NIT he dominated as well. It must have been one those games he was getting triple teamed every time he touched the ball which happened more often than not.
But THIS is not true, but go with it.
I don't think I know enough "True" details to judge either way. We assume they missed on Gordon, but I've read some reports that they understood his injury, and knew it would be a process. One thing that comforts me is that new owner Mr. Benson is very good at surrounding himself with quality poeple that help him make the most educated decisions. I feel comfortable that if the medical staff is less than standard, they will be ungraded.

DX finally got Len's video up.

I don't love Len and in fact prefer Zeller as a player, but he does have a perfect frame, is really athletic, is coordinated, and has some rough offensive skills. That combination is valuable in any draft and might be worthSometimes those guys are Andre Drummond (who I would have passed in at 6 last year for Lilliard, Barnes, etc.) and sometimes they're Meyers Leonard.
