    this lineup worth a damn?
The only issue is AR has said he wants to play point. I don't know it will work out with him at SG. He's going to need the ball in his hands.

    Harrison Barnes - 101.5 + 39.5 = 141 max jumping height
    Shabazz Muhamad - 104.5 + 37 = 141.5 max jumping height

Looks like bazz can get half an inch higher than barnes, guess we can give the bazz cant play SF thing a rest.
Except those numbers are totally wrong. Shabazz measured 6' 4.75'' without shoes and 6' 6.25'' with shoes (his vertical was 37"). He also had one of the highest body fat %'s of the combine and from reports did not shoot very well. My question is, since supposedly his only skill is scoring, what value is he if he can't even shoot well? Don't want.

Shabazz is very good in transition and it's not like all he does is shoot jumpers. Also hits the offensive glass.

    Don't underestimate him.

Jordan only needs to give this team 20-25 minutes a game when the Pels play big. Ryan Anderson and Ant will get most of frontcourt minutes and all of the crunch time minutes.

Hopefully over the next 2 years he develops into a player we want to resign, if not we let him go elsewhere or sign him to cheaper deal.

It works out excellently that his deal has only one year overlap with a Bledsoe extension, which means we can manage our cap well and create flexibility.

i just put them backwards, the calculations are still correct since u dont use height in the equation, just standing reach + vertical, both of those were accurate.

like i just explained it was a typo, but bazz still has a .25" max height advantage. Also shabazz's bodyfat was 9% harrison barnes' was 9.8%

9% is by no means huge or anything. Bazz is intriguing but he scares he heck out of me.

If we do this trade, I'm inclined to trade our pick for a vet or 2.

I'm not in love with Bazz or any of the other top 5 or 6 guys. They just aren't worth a top 6 pick. But if someone wants to give you top 6 trade value, you take that.

Bledsoe and Jordan, while vets, are still developing along with Miller, Rivers, Davis, and our other young guys. Unless we love a guy at our pick, I don't know why Monty would want to add another developmental player to our roster.

Actually if we do this deal, I almost certainly keep the pick, because the top 7 is littered with wings. You'd be almost guaranteed to get Oladipo/McLemore/Porter/McCollum. The first two, in particular, would be awesome fits on an athletic, running team. Oladipo would seal off a sick defense, while McLemore would bring the shooting we'd need.

Completely horrible trade. And I haven't even touched on the Gordon aspect. We're giving up the best player in the deal for a below average, overpaid C and an overrated, soon to be overpaid PG.

    No thanks.
He has a long way to go to be Chandler. However, the comparisons are made because both are extremely athletic dudes with a ton of length, both are lob-dunk machines, and both understand their limitations.

For as much as Jordan gets killed for being a dumb player, he doesn't play outside himself on offense. He always shoots an obscenely high percentage, like Chandler - neither guy is gonna try to do too much, which is a skill in itself. He's a fine rebounder, like Chandler. He needs to play a smarter game on defense. He'd have two years here to show his stuff - and if he develops into anything close to a Chandler, that's a tremendous amount of upside. There's risk there, but then there's risk with Gordon too.

We save $4m by doing this deal, and if I had my way I'd go HAM for Iggy or Josh Smith. If we can get McLemore or Dipo, I keep the pick, if not I trade back and hope to pick up a veteran SG in the process.

Our team would be seriously athletic and seriously versatile and we wouldn't be destroying any future cap flexibility for AD's second contract and prime years.

Siince we're in the offseason, I thought I'd re-visit an old trade thread just as a reminder that what we think we want the Pelicans to do and not do and the opinions we have about certain players sometimes turns out to be VERY VERY WRONG!

Bledsoe/Jordan for Gordon/Lopez would seem like robbery 1 year later... And several people would have shat on Demps if he did that deal a year ago!
