    Brandon Roy Released by Wolves

Could be seen coming a while back, thoughts? I'd throw him a 2 year 10 mill contract to see if he can still prove himself.

I'd love him as a backup SF. He has a good relationship with Monty as well, coached him in Portland.

Has there been any change in his knees condition at all since he last played? If not, why would we want him? The Wolves signing could be looked at as a chance for him to prove himself. Unfortunately for him, he wasn't able to do it.

We're already crying about Gordon and we want to add a guy that is known to have a CHRONIC knee condition? No thanks.

No, he's done. He is beyond done. His doctors recommended he not play basketball professionally again during his last stint in Portland because he is liable to ruin his knees to the point where he will need a wheelchair to get around in his late 30s/40s.

I'm pretty sure he's said he's done this time.

A league minimum is generous for him

You wouldn't take BRoy on a 2 year non-guaranteed contract? I'd offer him a small deal, and if he goes for it, great. If not, then no biggie.

I'd prefer no one picks him up so that he can still walk in ten years.

That would make him the most overpaid player in the league, or second depending on what Bynum gets.

No way in hell we give him 5m a year!!! No thanks.

    He should've just stayed retired.

No because he can't last for 5 games a season!

For the people talking about signing him, you guys don't understand. He has stage 3 degenerative arthritis in his knees. Stage 4 is when you need a full replacement. He makes Gordon's history look like a paper cut. Brandon Roy needs to just retire for his own sake.

Dude knees are GONE! Any contract given to this guy is money not well spent. Good guy, but he needs to retire while he is walking.

Sad to see how injuries changed this man career, he was a beast before thry occured. Thay Portland team would've been unstoppable if he and Greg Oden wouldnt zhave gotten hurt.
2013-1014 is the season the Pelicans fanbase grows!!!!

I agree with the masses here. Very unfortunate most reports rave about the type of person Roy seems to be. However his injuries aren't even debatable anymore he simply can't play anymore.

I'd rather take the $500k minimum you'd pay Brandon Roy for half a season before cutting him and use that money to buy a 2nd round pick.

Save that roster spot. Dude had taken a year off and had done everything possible from yoga to injections to stay healthy last year and couldn't stay on the floor. I cry inside thinking of what he could have been at healthy, but you'd be better suited giving the minimum to someone like Brian Roberts who can actually play than Roy.

I say let's get Oden, Roy, and Stoudamire. We'll have a starting line-up of Oden C, Roy SF, Stoudamire PF, Gordon SG, and Any PG. We'll have the all injured reserve team.
