    Eric Gordon undergoes procedure {merged}

    May 10, 2013

The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that guard Eric Gordon underwent a successful arthroscopic procedure yesterday in his left ankle to alleviate pain caused by particles of scar tissue. The procedure was performed by Dr. Richard Ferkel of the Kerlan-Jobe Clinic in Los Angeles, CA.

Gordon is currently recovering from the procedure and will begin rehabilitation immediately while returning to basketball activities later in the summer.
Hopefully he's healthy come trading season.

Sounds like a very common procedure to clean up tissue. Happens a lot. But people will overreact to it because its him.

(I will say that it does add to my feeling that we have no shot at moving him this summer)

Speaking of Eric Gordon, did anyone hear about his brother leaving Arizona State?

Just playing devil's advocate (not overreacting, i honestly don't care..) BUT wasn't his last procedure a "very common procedure"?

If anything this sounds like it would allow him to move a lot easier and pain-free once healed.

So it's that same ankle he and his brother tweeted about.

Hopefully hes in shape for next season. Its good to get this out of the way now; im glad he didnt sit out during the season. People would have really been calling for his head.

Not worried unless its a knee and anything other than removing scar tissue.

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

Won't be worried until training camp arrives and he's to sore.

i doubt anyone mentions him being "tough" by playing through the injury...nope..that will go unnoticed

It wouldn't be the offseason without Gordon getting surgery

So expect him back in January or March? These "procedures" take time to "heal".
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

1st there's never anything common about surgery great misconception. However there's most certainly levels to certain procedures. With that said there's always going to be some concern when a guys is always on a operating table. Like it's been pointed out we've seen "simple procedures" with this guy cost him large parts of the season.

He may be 24 but we may very well be watching this guy body break down and the longer we wait to get something for him the less we can realistically expect.

And it think it's very humorous that people are already saying that a guy that's notoriously injuried having yet another surgery done is no big deal.

He's been a Hornet what two years and he's already had 4 or 5 procedures done? If this isn't cause for concern what is?

I thought he's only had the knee scoped as a Hornet, now this? So that would make 2 procedures thus far unless i am forgetting something or you are thinking about his wrist problem when he was a Clipper?

Didn't he have that knee worked on twice? I could be wrong and that would make this number 3 if I'm right about the knee being operated on twice. Less than 4 or 5, but still a problem.

I could be wrong about this but i think knee problem 1 and knee problem 2 were the same issue. They just tried to "fix it" with rest / rehab first, that didnt work, so then he got it scoped. Same knee, same issue that supposedly resulted from the "knee bump" on Grant Hill.

Again that's just my memory of the situation i might be forgetting something. Seems like it's been awhile.
