And it's an even dumber idea to let players with Gordon's talent walk out the door.

It happens more often than you think.

    Grant Hill
    Amare Stodamire
    Monte Ellis
    Derron Williams
    Joe Johnson
    Ben Wallace
    The list can go on.

Lucky for us (and not so much for those teams) is we actually have (in Davis) a player who is the face of the franchise.

I honestly don't know how true this is. But I tend to agree.

Grant Hill- Detroit wanted to keep him, but he wanted to play in Orlando.
    Amare Stodamire - Uninsurable knees.
Monte Ellis- Traded, didn't let him walk out the door.
Derron Williams- Told the Jazz he wouldn't resign and was traded. Got value. Didn't just let him walk out the door.
Joe Johnson- Traded, got value, didn't let him just walk out the door.
Ben Wallace- Aging vet on a team that was breaking up that did not have a balanced game at all. He sucked in Chicago and the Pistons made the right decision. So you.. got 1.

And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

Who is talking about just letting Gordon walk out the door? We can move him (teams do it all the time with talent). He is still on our books for a few more years. We can probably get some good assets if we moved him and this lotto pick (given our cap space, and so many teams killing to get under the cap).

There is no way you can just "let him walk" NBA contracts aren't like NFL contracts. Once he is on your books he is on your books unless you find somebody willing to take him. So no, you can not let someone just walk.

But what I was saying is, teams move on from good players all the time. It happens. We can do it to. And like I said, we are lucky to (if we decide to) move him and still have the face of our franchise here.

Are there many teams built around Jaguar like players? So why are we fighting to be the exception? Take him and this lottery pick, use our cap space to our advantage, and move them for a great young talent or two.

I think you are fighting with yourself right now. This thread went to crap quick.

We are talking about Eric Gordon's injury right? I am the one attacking the idea of keeping an off injured guy here. There are people defending the idea of keeping him here in spite of his health. Nobody is arguing with themselves. Some strawman arguments are being thrown out there, and some commentary is very obtuse, but all in all, it's an exercise in healthy debate.

I see now why Monty keeps him in that 30-minute restriction.

    Ladies and gentlemen,

Let's keep things on track here. Gordon's injury occurred prior to his surgery last February. Since then, the recovered, played (including a back-to-back), failed to get into the Olympics, then needed more time to recover some more, now restricted from back-to-backs and more.

He's not always injured; he's always recovering.

am i the only one that doesn't see any swelling? looks normal to me, just an awkward angle on the pic showing his ankle and his heel.

on second look, and compared to his lower leg.... it looks like his foot is shrinking, not swelling.

We need to sit this guy out for the rest of the year. Let him "heal" as much as possible and hopefully we can a better AG than we had this year. Bring in Brandon Paul from Illinois as the back up/starter at SG and hopefully things will sort themselves out in training camp.

Did he just recently do that and I missed it? Or maybe in practice or doing something personal? I don't recall seeing him limping off the court, and from experience, when you get a knot like that, you are limping off the court. Of course the really bad ones are black/blue all over. I've had 2 of those. Didn't go near a court for 3 months after one of those.

Maybe he just swells up easy on little tweaks?

But more importantly, after 2 months, it's healed. I don't care what it looks like. If you can run and put weight on it, don't whine about it and tweet a picture about it. Geez.
