Should Lou Amundson be part of team plans for 2013-14 season?

Do you think Lou Amundson should be on the 2013-14 roster? I like the intensity he brings off the bench. Sort of like a poor man's Jason Smith without any offensive game. I've been impressed by his ability to step into passing lanes for steals.

I think he'd be a great guy at the end of the bench to have for some spot duty.

    That's a really poor man.

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

As long as he gets paid the minimum and we have no intentions on sticking with him long term, sure.

This. He can take Lance's spot, and never see playing time, and I'm okay with that.

I think he should be. Think about the energy off the bench with him and Smith. Team's backups would hate us lol. As long as we get him for minimum or close to minimum I'm down.

He can def have lance Thomas spot. Plays super hard, very good at creating steals. Good defense

Yes...at the 4 or the 5...but Lance plays the 3 as well.

Of course, we are banking on the SF position to be completely revamped in the offseason anyway...

I don't see how! Where is he going to play? Bigs are the one thing that we do have! We are set with AD, Smith, Lopez, Ryno, and Lance Thomas as our end of bench player.

Are you telling me, you'd rather Lance Thomas? That's just laughable. Lou has shown a nack for jumping passing lanes and making some good plays on the end. Lance Thomas is undersized and has no game to speak of.

For a veterans minimum, hells yeah. Been hustling harder than smitty and is the best big at defending the pick and roll, and does an amazing job of stopping bigger players from getting position down low. I could actually see him stealing minutes off Jason Smith and whoever is our starting centre next year

Don't see it. Monty likes Lance and rightfully so. I'd rather have Lance on the team because he's a character guy and he can play real good 1on1 defense. His character can be contagious for players, he's always cheering for the players and talking to them. There's no quit for him.

Agreed. Plus, Lance Thomas is a nice wrinkle to throw at the LeBrons and KDs of the world, even if only for a few minutes a game. Tenacious defender, tireless worker. That stuff helps team practices too.

I don't think you can ignore that Amundson is averaging 12 minutes a game since joining the team and Lance is struggling to even get off the bench right now.

Lou aint that good either! I'm not saying Lance Thomas has game and deserves minutes because he's a scrub.. but he does have versatility (can play the 3, 4, or 5) is not that bad as a end of the bench guy.

I don't really see either of them being on the team but I'd rather lance since he's such a great bench guy and plays good d

lance is not ugly enough for our team lets be honest, we need amundson
    never assume

It's not necessarily as black and white as who's the better basketball player though. Lance Thomas will only be in his 2nd year in the league meaning his minimum will be $800k. Amundson will be in his 8th year in the league meaning his minimum will be $1.2 million. Brian Roberts will also cost $800k vs the rookie minimum of $500k . So what if the choice were Lance Thomas and Brian Roberts vs. Amundson and a rookie DLeaguer?

Yes. He is a physica player that loves to ply defense. He would bring tougness to the team and can AD get better down low.

I'll never understand how a professional player, or any player, with enough time and practice, can't develop a shot.

He works hard and I like him, but to have no shot when all you do is play ball is mind boggling to me. Maybe as a regular guy who has always been able to shoot good I take it for granted, but come on man!

If Lou had some offense, he's be a definite keeper, but just as a hustler, he's probably not. But I'm not against keeping him. But of course once JSmith comes back, there really is no spot for him.
