"The pelican is fearsome. Take a raven, for example: it's omnivorous. It eats bugs, and seeds, and fruit, and carrion. Compared to the well-rounded citizen that is the raven, the pelican is the serial killer of birds." - Barry Petchesky, Deadspin

I'm sorry guys .. Monty just doesn't do it for me . At times we look completely lost on defense , & we have absolutely no offensive philosophy/ identity .

We just ran a iso play with Vasquez shooting a off balance fadeaway to close out the half after we inbounded the ball on our side of the court . Is there not a inbound go to play that we have those situations ? I'm sick of seeing the GV heave to the goal with time running out
Dell Demps PLEASE get us some scorers!

Don't think that was the play called. Vasquez lost control of the ball and panicked.

I don't think a play was called at all .. We just look like a jumble mess when it comes down to late clock situations

That may be true, but this first half has shown a LOT of crisp and effective offense. Some of the plays called this half have been pure gold.

You can't blame that on Monty. This team has no floor general.

I'm actually growing scared of losing Aminu in free agency. I like Aminu's rebounding and it helps because Lopez is non existent on the defensive glass.

missed the 1st half, just now turned it on for the 2nd, looked at the box score and saw GV has 10pts on 14 shots at half time, 8 more than anyone else. Also saw gordon had 5pts and 3 fouls and Davis with no rebs or blks, I'm already pissed.
    never assume

Hopefully Lopez isn't any more than a 15-18 minute sort of guy next season.

Eh it hasn't been to bad. It hasn't been to noticeable when watching the game. Plus with gordon having 3 fouls and only lik 9 minutes of playing time, Vasquez is our best option at getting easy baskets in the paint.

Who do we bring in to replace him? I'm not upset with Lopez, but I don't think you can start Lopez without a SF that rebounds like Aminu.

ah ok, I am glad it is a close game so I can at least watch the 2nd half with some hope of winning, idk why but I just don't like the timberwolves, can't explain it

AD opens the second half showing the type of assist that makes you think he's still a guard at heart

I (unfortunately) think that regardless of what coach we have, the last play of a quarter or game will almost always end up being an iso. Teams for whatever reason decide to use hero ball.

Our offense is actually the 12th best in the NBA despite having Austin Rivers, Al-Farouq Aminu, Brian Roberts, Xavier Henry, and Lance Thomas all getting serious minutes (over 5000 minutes combined between those players). We could easily, easily have a top 10 offense if Eric Gordon had played all year, or if Rivers had played like he did in February/March all year, or having a SF that could shoot. I think for next year we could end up having an offense that ranks close to top 5.

Defense is definitely a problem, but I blame personnel more than coaching.

The thought is to not involve another defender in the play, which doesn't really make much sense to me but...

I think d Williams can be a very good sf in this league. He needs to get out of Minny

  18. #93
Lopez is looking awesome so let's get three straight turnovers running the offense through Gravy.

    Vasquez is killing us

Lazy play by vasquez past 4 minutes.

I have been saying his. He will be a cheap signing too

PG is still this team biggest need

  23. #98
This switching defense is just terrible. Lopez is hardly ever able to get his body on another big because he's trailing a guard.

  24. #99
Davis got the crap slapped out of his face.
