Again, neither does Sims. Lets stop talking ifs, because Sims does not have promise. Logic would leave you to believe he hasn't shown anything in practice to get an extended look in games, and when he has gotten on the court for a short period he hasn't set himself apart in anyways. Where as Amundson is a guy they've liked for some time, they finally got the chance to bring him in so they took it. Can't really argue against that.

How did this thread go 3 pages?

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

Max money? What are you talking about, this was a low end deal. The Hornets got outbid by Golden State because they were capped out. No reason to go all jilted lover on a low end guy not passing up around $800k. You'd have chosen Golden State too if you were him.

But with the Hornets still possessing roster spots left to fill with only 11 players under contract and thanks to a $1.25 million performance bonus Hornets center Emeka Okafor is expected to trigger in his contract by season’s end, New Orleans couldn’t start Amundson’s contract at higher than roughly $1.9 million without straying into luxury-tax territory.

Not sure why folks are trippin about this signing. We're short on bigs... Sims couldn't make the cut... we're NOT fighting for a playoff spot... and we're still a rebuilding team.

Worse-case is Lou doesn't pan out, and we'll look for another big at seasons-end. Best case is Lou shows that he can contribute SOMETHING, and he can be an "end-of-the-bench" big that can come in and give energy, and add 6 more hard fouls to the lineup.

At least that's how I see it.

Amundson is a great signing for this team.

If this works out and we bring him back for next season, he's an instant upgrade over Thomas and a very good 3rd big off the bench. He can come in at the 4 after Ryno and would be a great energy guy helping out on the boards with Smith at the 5. I love the move. Wanted them to sign him 2 years ago when he chose GSW.

He has a chance to stick if he performs well. A great role player who will provide some energy and depth on the bench.

They had to lose someone to sign Amundson. Sims was the natural choice.

I don't think its the bigs can't set picks as much as it is our guards don't know how to use them... or they go before the pick is set, and gives the big an unnecessary offensive foul call.

I like this guy Amundson, great effort. Like Jason Smith without the offense. Having said that, I can't see a place for him when Smith comes back, unfortunately.
