Thread: Is Vasquez the long term answer?

  1. #76
Vasquez is one of 2 who have had at least five games of 20 points, 10 assists and five rebounds this season. The other guy LeBron.

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

That's great and impressive. But you can also seriously argue that Vasquez isn't even a top 20 pg in the league.

You can, and nobody will take you seriously. Not after seeing what he has done this season.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

Those people probably live and die by raw stats as well.

And the man is third in the league with Assists! Double-Double machine and is the floor general for our team. He is constantly improving, give the man a break!

No you cannot. You went a bit far with the top 20 thing. That's absurd.
    Wherehappens.

I mean LBJ has great raw stats, but I guess he is chopped liver as well.

20 pg's that I would take over Greivis? I absouletly could, and I will later.

Then it's an opinion. Not a fact. You said that no can argue that he's a top 20 PG in the league and you have no facts to back that up other than your own personal feelings.

Let me make my list later and see who can argue it, if you take into account that he is one of the bottom tier defensive pg's then it should not be up for debate. Though I totally understand fans want to ignore that side of the ball

Well with both Rose and Rondo out so far that move GV up two spots on your list.

I can't wait to see this list.

Rose and Rondo are both on the list. My list has nothing to do with this year, but the near future.

Both will be different when they get back as their games were built on speed, and with a busted wheel, that changes their future outlook.

Not to mention that for all his stats...they don't hide him on defense. He's still slow, he still makes our defensive rotations suffer, and he still can barely create turnovers.

I'd have Greivis higher up on my list of PGs if he actually became efficient shooting. His TS% is only 50%. If he got it up to 55-56%, he'd be in my top 15. For now, he's right around 20-23.

How many rings has Nash won?

    Nah, that's not fair.

But then, so is comparing Gravy to Nash.

As bad as people say GV is on offense, and how he holds on to the ball or plays hero ball, our team is actually passing better than it ever did while CP3 was here.

I too wish he shot the ball better when he was at the line, as .726 is not acceptable for a guy who is usually going to have the ball in the final minuets of the game.

Steve Nash has been one of the most efficient scorers in the NBA throughout his career, even leading the NBA in TS% for 2 consecutive years at one point. Also Nash was/is the much better playmaker. That's what separates the two of them.

How many rings has the dominant CP3 won?

But they were still competitive even with his shortcomings. He was usually option 1,2, or 3. And his price makes it hard for any team to contend. Whereas Vasquez will be much cheaper and eventually option 4 or 5 which is where he belongs.

Nash didn't do crap his first 4 years in the league, and was 27 before people realized who he was. Give GV some time.

Same shortcomings. Vasquez might not be at the level of Nash but he's not a scrub like many on here want to believe.

One fewer than Rondo. Five fewer than Derek Fisher.

And probably the same number Gravy as a Pelican will get if we keep things as they are.
