Report: Pelicans ownership will mandate Joe Dumars to trade Zion Williamson
It really depends on what they got. 0 interest in an Ingram trade package
Shamit reporting that Dumars doesnt want to just trade Zion and instead wants a chance to actually talk to him personally before making any decisions.
So either the mandate to trade was never that strong, or Dumars is perfectly willing to push back. Either is fine.
Basketball.
What a circus! They tell a media member one thing then tell another something different. Glad everyone is on the same page.
Some people can't wait to see people fired. Just remember that things can always be worse. I'm going back to my wait and see approach. Maybe Joe figures it out this time.
I hear he is signing Marcus Thornton! The comeback tour!

Shamit just telling you like it is
Yeah, it's pretty bad. I don't think things can get much worse though. We are pretty much at the bottom right now. That also doesn't mean things will get better though. But again, I'll wait and see becasue we can't do anything else anyway. I most certainly won't be paying for anything team related until they can show some movement in the right direction. Same with the Saints.
Bull********. Management wouldn't do that publicly because it kills his trade value. There's no doubt he's our best player; he was never more unstoppable than the end of this year, I know he has rarely played, but he has never looked so good. Why suffer through his immature years and trade him as he starts to mature? Plus, how do you lure a GM and tell him what to do with the most important decision he has to make.
BTW I saw that zion has been double-teamed more than any other player since they started tracking it in 2014. certainly, Dumars will consider keeping him
I'm just a normal fan, and don't really get into the details of team building, etc, but I have a question.
It was always said that Zion and Ingram didn't fit together well. Suppose we were to end up with Cooper Flagg. How would he fit with Zion? Honest question.
I dont know anything about Flagg but the thought is that Ingram occupied too much of the same space as Zion with all the midrange shots he liked. Ideally you would want someone that can hit the three on spot ups at a high rate as well. I thought Ingram and Z could coexist. We just never got to see it on the court. It's tragic really.
Counterpoint, they don't care and are too stupid to consider ramifications. The reporting that there is a push to trade Zion is from the same sources that broke the insider knowledge of Griffin leaving so it's pretty reliable. This ownership and leadership in the organization has shown time and again they have no idea what's going on or what's best for the franchise.
to illustrate how below value we'd get for trading zion consider: points per minute
it's literally a who's who in basketball
and he's freaggin third
just cause of a couple disgruntled, loud beaches gotta act up/ we got no need overreacting
