He's a really good role player. Solid pick-up.

I hope not. Always thought he would be a solid player here.

Guess it was time to change my avatar. I wish BI well. Nothing but love for him.

Losing a star (albeit often injured one) hurts. We're not the Lakers so the league will never force owners to send us another superstar. We're loaded with guys who's ceilings are non-all star starter to fit around are one always injured star in Zion. We're not attractive enough to attract another star and if Zion actually stays healthy we'll be picking in the lower teens....making it harder to find and develop a star. So this draft is it.

We struck gold being able to land AD after the CP3 era collapsed. Lightening struck twice getting Zion as the AD era was burning....we need that third miracle or the future is play in squad at best for the foreseeable future.

We're not a play in squad now and we're getting worse while the west continues to be a tougher conference. We don't have a path to the play in for the foreseeable future. And in 7 years of AD and 6 years of Zion we have won a single playoff series. We have gone 3-16 in all playoff games besides the single series we won. We have been one of the absolute worst teams and biggest embarrassments in the league for the last 14 years. There are kids who can drive who don't remember the last time we had home court. I don't know what it's going to take for people to realize how bad this team is and has been and how little hope there is for us to turn it around any time soon.

We need to flip or cut, both Brown and Olynyk, especially Brown. He is not resigning, and he is smart player. We dont need smart players this season.

Decent enough return. Could've got more a year ago, but we left it too late, so you take what you can get.

All the respect in the world for BI. Came here and improved dramatically, and whatever might be true about his ultimate ceiling or the value of his next contract, you can't deny that he won us games and only ever spoke well of the franchise and the city when he spoke at all.

He finishes his Pelicans career ranked at the following all time positions for the franchise:

    - 6th in Games Played (305)
    - 3rd in assists (1580)
    - 9th in steals (235)
    - 5th in points (7017)
    - 3rd in PPG (23.0)
    - 6th in Win Shares (22.6)

    Not too shabby.

Wish him the best of luck in Toronto or wherever he decides to go in free agency.

As for the return on the trade itself; not great, but what do you expect? Olynyk and Brown are both useful players if we decide to keep them around, and should be able to be flipped for something if we decide to move them - particularly Olynyk. So that's cool. Though with Theis gone, the odds are that Olynyk is probably necessary as a backup big. The picks aren't great but they'll probably land, so that's fine.

Overall kind of a sad end to the BI era but there wasn't much we could hope for after the true sweet spot for the trade was long gone. Not as bad as it could've been.

Hope we reroute them for expirings and 2nd rounders (or young cheap players who have not done well yet).

    While the injuries are certainly
a narrative, I don't see how this front office and coaching staff is retained. But then I expect that they will stay anyway. New Orleans gets the small market treatment from the league and to some extent they behave in such a manner.

I'd be surprised if Green is our coach next year. I would also be surprised if Griff is fired.

Unfortunately, he's a turnstile. At the same time the entire team has been a bunch of turnstiles since Herb went out. Maybe they just want to try and outscore everyone...

Raptors fans saying KO is washed. Maybe we move him in the offseason or just roll with it. Guess we'll get a good look unless we do the buyout thing.

The way the football coaching search has gone it might take longer to find a basketball coach. Who is going to want to coach this mess? Besides Tim Floyd.

KO I see staying around. He’s only under contract 1 more year. Brown I’m fine with getting bc he will be expiring this year. Will have money coming off the books and even more when CJ expires or is traded (he’s set to expire the same year as KO).

The football coaching search has taken a while bc the guy they want is in the SB and can’t sign until afterwards lol. If Eagles lost in the first round this would have been done weeks ago.

I feel every time the luxury cap causes us to move on from our best players we really are a acting as a farm team for those teams that can pay the Luxury Tax. Small market teams can't keep up with the big boys. The NBA is just broken and needs to make it where all teams are on an equal footing.

The media absolutely despises New Orleans as a market. Any player we get they are already looking to trade for us and put us in our place. We never had that problem with BI. He made it clear he was happy here, and by the time it reached this point, nobody could fault him for getting out. I will be sad that he is gone because he wanted to win here. It just wasn't going to happen.
