Now, half the roster is out so as fans we have to just accept them becoming 10 games below 500 before Trey and Murray gets back?? The issue is when they come back will others be healthy?.. probably not. So, then another excuse is we are missing other players etc?.. it will never end. It?s a bad freaking nightmare.
The team has improved every year under Willie Green, so objectively it has not been the exact same thing every year. It's literally the first few games into the season and the team had to adjust to dramatic changes basically wiping out everything that they had been planning. Y'all need to get a grip.

You are entirely missing the point which is exactly why Willie will never be held accountable and why he has zero pressure on him. I agree we should have lost that game. There was no much excuse to drop 3 in a row here- particularly the way we did. bad streaks happen, sure. We didn't even compete. We looked clueless 3 nights in a row. Two of those we came in mostly healthy. Even with those injuries, BI and Zion should have had us competing. We are nowhere near where we need to be by now and that is on Willie. If anything, you are being a bit of an apologist.

I want to see some accountability. It's not good enough. This is exactly how we end up with another Gentry 10 game slide and win just enough games to slip into play-ins. This team can't be carried by talent alone. Willie has to be better as well

If anything y'all are being Zion apologists. He's the best player on our team, he's supposed to be the franchise. He went 5-20 and scored 12 points. If you need to blame somebody for the outcome of this game in question, sure seems like there should be an obvious choice.

I think we are witnessing a master clinic of staying mediocre, so they don?t have to hire an expensive coach. They get by just enough to not warrant firing the coach. Every player that comes here has a stint like this but then go somewhere else and never have it happen. So, I am going to say that it?s the organization and losing culture that has guys like Zion moping around. When he was at Duke, he never stopped hustling. The culture of mediocrity has overwhelmed the players. We are talking about a team that has a goal not to be contenders but to not be in the playin?. That?s still will always be insane to me. The goal should always be to win at the highest level. Sustaining winning has become sustaining mediocrity.

We have a losers culture. It's Willie's happy fun hug house in New Orleans because nobody is ever held accountable. The Saints were a massive outlier and Gayle wants this team to the the same. Any middling journeyman coach would have surpassed Willie these past 3 years with this roster. That isn't a shot at Willie as he shouldn't be on par with most coaches yet. He should be playing his trade at a club in rebuild mode and work his way up. We amassed talent very quickly and he wasn't ready to take the project on. It's Gayle's fault for keeping Gentry for that year to try and entice him to take a management position. It was Gayle's fault for renting Van Gundy for a year and deciding he was too out of touch with the squad. Then, when it makes the least sense to hire a rookie coach, she brings in Willie who still isn't prepared to coach a talented roster. I don't blame Willie for not being good enough. I blame the way the team has been handled by ownership and the lack of accountability we have as a franchise. There is absolutely no pressure or desire to win. Willie has full reign to run the squad into the ground. Zion and co. Will continue to be babied by management until they decide they actually want to compete for something. As things stand, it certainly won't be here. Things need to change drastically.

We always blame the players, but as you rightly said- the second they leave, they compete. That is for good reason. The culture here is awful

How do we have a losers culture but we won 49 games last season which is 2nd best in franchise history? Y'all are having a meltdown.

And how stacked was our roster? That was healthy for most of the year? We need to quit making excuses. It wasn't good enough.

This was it. Just leave it at that.

I get the frustration. I'm frustrated beyond belief. We are at the beginning on the season and missing our 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th best players for meaningful time. That's insane. And it's every year. Every. Year. With the Saints, too. It's insane.

AND THE FRANCHISES COMPLETELY OVERHAULED THE MEDICAL AND TRAINING STAFF A FEW YEARS AGO.

Like. Really. How does this happen every season?

    I could punch ****.

But also we're getting better every season so I'm not going to go off on Green.

On the bright side it sure is a blessing that BI trade never materialized. Its unclear how he fits with the team when everyone is healthy, but we do not have that problem on our hands right now.

You seem to be under the impression that Gayle Benson is the one hiring the coaches? I can guarantee that is not true. I sincerely doubt she could pick SVG out of a police lineup.

No. Gayle makes decisions like keeping Gentry. She is heavily involved in the decision making and her actions are based too much on sentimentality. Thankfully she fired Dennis Allen so maybe she finally decided her line of thinking isn't working.
