Thread: Welcome to to Pels - Dejonte Murray

  1. #1

Welcome to to Pels - Dejonte Murray

Pels moved Nance Jr, Dyson, 25 Lakers with and another future first.

Dejonte and Herb backcourt would be amazing. One of Ingram or CJ or even Murphy III probably next for a C.

Personally I think the value is fine. Murray is on a good deal, upgrades us at Point Guard, is an elite defender.

We are working towards competing for a chip, so selling future firsts is going to happen.

Edit: The other future 1st is worse of Bucks/Pels 2027

    Edit 2: it's Dejounte

Dejonte is as good on D as Dyson just a bit shorter. I'd like Naji back too though he really seemed to be part of the heart of this team and willing to step up when guys went down.

Griff needs another home run on this next deal. We desperately need to get the front court right around Zion and all the realities of having him.

the 21-22 season in san antonio,,murray almost avg a triple double going 21-9-8....i didnt know that....put the ball in murray hands and let him run the show....

start the season off with,,murray, ingram, herb, zion and center.....cj coming off of the bench......trade ingram at the deadline...

This is just absolutely not something you can assume.

Dejounte hasn't played defense in years at this point. Some people argue that that's just because he's in Atlanta and there's no culture of defense and no incentive, and maybe that's true, but the last time we saw DJM play real defense was before his ACL injury in San Antonio almost 6 years ago.

If anyone can get him playing defense again, it's probably Willie Green, but Dyson is a legitimately special perimeter defender and just assuming DJM is going to be as good as that is a huge limb to go out on.

He hasn't been all defense since then but still a few steals a game and, until Atlanta, a healthy DBPM. Change of scene to a more defensive culture should be all he needs, especially if the team is competitive.

I was thinking about them getting him while most people wanted Young. I was like, what's wrong with him?

I mean, Trae is still the superior talent with the superior fit, but if you don't have to give up Ingram to get Dejounte then that leaves you BI to trade in another move, so the value is clearly there.

GREAT trade for the Pels! Murray fits very well in our system and with our team. His contract is perfect and the cost was very low.

Now the question is - what We gonna do with BI ?

    Welcome Murray !

I'm wondering how many heads will explode if we keep Ingram.

Regardless, we currently have 6 legit starting caliber nba players on the team. None of them are centers.

For any SaintsReport vets up in here.....I guess Center is the new Safety.
BI, Zion, and CJ had a net rating of +3 when on the court together. BI and Zion had a +13.4, BI and CJ had a +13.2, Zion and CJ was just +5.4.

BI and Zion worked. BI and CJ worked. It was CJ and Zion and all three together that didn't work.

Nah, going to move Trey to center. He's tall enough isn't he?

Herb giving up his jersey number.

It is entirely possible this is the steal of the offseason. Fixes point guard issues and is a scorer/defender. I think we are gonna ball out with Murray

Yep he’s going to #2. Murray must have paid for all the #5 jerseys remaining out there.
