    Pelicans Brandon Ingram stat line

    38 min , 8 pts , 6 assist, 2-14 FG, 0-3 3PT, 2 turnovers

Yet we got people on here that want to throw him more money.

I guess we did not learn anything from the Eric Gordon era.

    Ingram is very meh

Hard for him to get you a bucket despite the fact he usually has a height advantage

Non existent deep ball, he ain't it

in BI's postgame comments he seemed to be very self aware and disappointed with his performance and took ownership. Zion made a change when he wilted in the play in tournament, he made necessary adjustments and came back stronger. Hopefully BI can do that in the off-season.

The problem with BI is pretty simple. He’s not a good enough player to build a team around. But his game is also not very conducive for making him the second option on the floor. He’s never developed a decent catch and shoot offense, or a decent post game. His regression from the three point line is also a big problem. He should have thrived playing alongside Zion. He’s had numerous open looks, but it requires him to play without the dribble, and he can’t do it.

    40 million?

Try $50m a year average throughout the life of the next contract, with the final year paying him $61m.

    Basically this.

BI is an excellent player. Top 60 in the world when healthy, which means he's probably in the top 0.5% of basketball players alive right now.

That means nothing. The NBA isn't an individual league. It's a team league. And the variety of basketball BI loves to play is not conducive to winning team basketball in 2024. He would probably kill it in 2003, but it isn't 2003.

Is Willie Green the best coach in the world? Obviously not. We all have issues with him. But the fact is, BI had chance after chance to adjust his own game - CJ did it, all year long. Herb's done it over his first few years in the league, filling in the gaps the team has. Naji's developed in a way that makes him fit the system and what we need from him. They've all made the adjustments to fit themselves better to what we need.

BI has done the opposite, actually becoming less fitting over the last 3 years. He himself even said it in the post-game last night - this was his worse season in a Pelicans uniform. He's right. He was bad this year even before the injury, and then abominable after it. Will he be better next year? Sure, very probably. Will he be good enough to justify doubling his salary, nearly? Nope. And if he can't be the number one option, you can't pay him like the number one option.

Dude will pass open a wide open 3 to dribble into a contested fadeaway. It's been said before, but that alone encapsulates everything wrong with his game in 2024. Seeking out worse shots, choosing to make things harder on himself, and worsening the team's offense to do so.

This is what years of losing will do to your mentality. I know the second we offload him he will kill it elsewhere. I think once the brain goes it’s over.
