    Graham AND Dinwiddie?

  2. #2127
I’d take Graham and his contract over Ball and his contract all day, but giving up a very real 1st is a bad move.

Yeah I think the Pels got good value. I’m just utterly flabbergasted that we gave up our own pick next year and not Lakers or Bucks.

Yeah, that does suck. At least it's protected but still, I'd have preferred top 20 protection instead of just lottery.

We already gave up the Laker pick to dump Bled and Adams and to get JV

Look man we don't make the playoffs we keep the pick, if they get the pick that means we made the playoffs. It's an overreaction for a pick that is either going to be ours or not that good.

Like I said, those PnRs will be nuts.

Pick your poison: Zion in the paint or let one of the league's most prolific 3pt specialists launch.

These moves are reminiscent of what Dell did. Graham is a fine player and all, but he's not worth a 1st. If I'm giving up a 1st, I want someone who's making a difference. Graham will most likely just be a replacement to Lonzo. Nothing more.

    Oof that's a lot.

Dude, Dame has to be so mad. They are now committed to even more money and the only upgrade they made was Cody Zeller at C.

Just a horrifying decision. It gets worse the longer you think about it.
As ridiculous as the Adams move from last year which I also hated. This front office deserves the hate they are going to get nationally.

We are making the playoffs as a 7th seed at best. We need that pick. It's a very Dell Demps move.

Griff started off the off-season with such promise, that Memphis trade was pure gold. Today we blew it all. I'm done with him.

Didn't you say he's terrible at getting to the rim or finishing there?

One of the things that pissed us off the most about Lonzo

That's not going to end well for Portland. They're gonna break up their roster next year I'm sure.

He is terrible at getting to the rim, but unlike Lonzo he's not scared of driving anyway.

Why? Cause he's a much more prolific drawer of FTs than Lonzo and he shoots 84% from the stripe.

    Well that's encouraging

Don't get me wrong, I'm not in love with the move. That FRP loss, only lottery protected instead of top 20, is galling. And I still think we need to make one more move, preferably S&T'ing Hart.

But I just think getting ready to throw the franchise in the bin at this point is a bit much

Lonzo Ball last year (his best career year as a driver in percentage but lowest in volume): Free Throw Rate of 9.1%. Has shot 259 total FTs in his entire career.
Graham, also last year: Free throw rate of 23.6% - shot 158 FTs that season. Graham took 233 FTs in 2019-20 alone, almost as many as Lonzo's entire 4 year rookie contract.

    Lonzo's career FTR is about 10% - Graham's is about 24%

Griffin just loves being fleeced when teams are trying to give guys away

  22. #2147
You guys are comparing Ball and Graham like we gave one up to get the other. But If my numbers are right we could have kept ball, kept hart, and still signed graham with the remaining cap space.

I would call this a good trade if the pick was top 20 protected.

Ball did not want to be here. Unless you wanted to pay $21m+ per year for someone who wanted to leave, you could not have done that.

Haven't the Pelicans done enough matching contracts for guys who don't want to be here for one franchise?
