Yep, a win is a win, regardless of who it comes against.
Also, momentum and experience is a thing. It's hard for a team with so many moving parts and new guys and injuries to feel any kind of consistency or chemistry when every time you take to the floor you're getting annihilated by an experienced team with healthier guys. It's like learning to play a game: if you have no idea what you're doing, putting it on the hardest mode isn't likely to help you improve, it's just going to murder you and make you frustrated until you quit.
It's good to start on easy or normal mode and figure out what you're doing, before you turn the difficulty up. That way, you've worked out some of the basics and you're more prepared for the harder stuff.
