Point guard Damon Stoudamire is threatening to sit out games due to critical comments by the organization during the introductory press conference. Both the Rockets GM and head coach Jeff Van Gundy blasted Stoudamire for his poor work ethic this offseason and openly wondered if he is fit to lead the Rockets. According to Stoudamire's agent, he may not report and would be very interested in a trade since he does not feel appreciated at this time. The Rockets said they have not looked to trade Stoudamire at this time, but said it would be a possibility if a great offer came along or if the team was out of the playoff race at the deadline. Stoudamire still has two years left on his 4 years 36 million dollar contract he signed in the summer of 2002.
