Have to agree with MM on this one.
Hell of a shot, hell of a series. The man certainly inherited the clutch gene. But calling him the best PG in the league based off such a small and frankly flawed sample size is just silly.

MM if your a gm and your drafting your own team. Who do you pick first? Lillard, cp3, curry, Westbrook, rondo, holiday, Parker, Irving, dragic
Juicy question. I'm obviously not MM, but I want to answer it anyways haha.
1. Curry
2. Westbrook
3. Lillard
4. Parker
5. Rondo
6. Holiday
7. Irving
8. Dragic
9. CP3
CP3 last simply b/c I don't believe he has many All Star caliber years left in the tank. This is on first impression though...my rankings would probably change a bit with more thought and consideration.
Yea your good. Sorry I wasn't trying to make my question solely for 1 person. Me personally I'm doing it in this order,
1. Curry
2. Lillard
3.cp3
4. Rondo
5. Parker
6. Irving
7. Holiday
8. Westbrook
9. Dragic
I can really go in any direction with 6-9 tho. Those were tough. I hear ya on cp3 and I'm not a fan of his either but he still has that floor general game that I love. He's not the scorer he used to be but he's still a beast and I think he has a good 5-6 years of elite in him. Parker is another tough one. You think he will take a step down in his game the following year and he is just as good if not better. Parker and cp3 are the best pgs in the nba at this very moment IMO.
Flip CP3 with Westbrook and our list would basically be the same.
Clearly, you're obviously not too high on Westbrook. I think he's one of those players who draws an excessive amount of attention to his flaws, particularly due to the fact that said flaws tend to negatively affect the productivity of their best player: KD. His combination of speed, power, athleticism, and defensive potential makes him a top 10 player in the league nevertheless, but he would probably be better served becoming the alpha dog on another team. I agree with you on Parker. I wanted to put him lower, but couldn't b/c he just doesn't show any signs of slowing down. Also doesn't have an extensive injury history. On a somewhat unrelated note, Lillard just isn't good enough on the defensive side or efficient enough offensively to warrant top point guard consideration. With that said, given his age and offensive talent, I had to rank him high in comparison to the other players you provided.
Lillard best pg, now i've heard it all. I'm definitely happy the rockets got kicked out, too good to be true
I remember lillard and his rotating door defense. that said curry does the same but I'd rate curry higher, both are amazing shooters, what Would make curry the better player? efficiency? playmaking?
What a big difference between the 6th and 10th pick. I remember people 'round here saying that the 10th pick had a higher ceiling and brighter future than the 6th pick.
I have a Harden question. Do y'all think that he's worth his salary. He scores a lot of points but he's terrible on defense and most of the time his shooting % is not good. I personally don't think that he's a max player. When I think max player, I think Lebron or Durant. He's not on that level. This wasn't his best series either. What y'all think?
It seems like Lilliard stole the clutch gene from Derek Fischer, but he neglected to take any of his other qualities. The West is scary as hell.
Irving is not even in the conversation for me. Not being a homer - I would take Jrue over him.
As the alpha dog somewhere where there isn't another superstar on his team Westbrook won't win it all anywhere IMO.
On a team where he is with another superstar he will take away from the superstar and ultimately hurt the chemistry of the team by commanding the most shots and often times disrupting the flow of the offense. Yes everyone knows he will have those games where he looks like GOAT but there often married to games where his style is a severe detriment to his team. And taking the good with bad means you are settling for your team to be an inconsistent mess at times during playoff time IMO because Westbrook often doesn't know when he needs to step back and work on getting everyone else started instead of himself.
For me it comes down to this. Most of those guys on that top ten list will make your other superstars and elite players better with their presence and style of play, and thus the team as a whole, Westbrook would take away from most superstars and disrupt offensive cohesion and flow while adding more inconsistency to most teams. Yes he is an elite talent but so are a lot of those other guys and they don't come with the glaring negatives.
Harden and Lillard are both worth whatever the market bears because while their defense is suspect at best, the opposition is going to get in foul trouble quickly as both of them attack the basket. There are players who have crap shooting % because they can't hit water from a boat, then there are these two who attack the basket, and their shot doesn't fall. They get to the line for their 2 pt's. So yes, their shooting percentage is crap, and their defense is even worse, but they are leaders and keep their opponents in foul trouble. And that is very beneficial.
Should we try to sign James Johnson this summer? His salary right now is $634,610.
He is athletic, can defend and can shoot behind the arc.
If we can get him for cheap, he is worth consideration.
Reggie Jackson is wasted in OKC. I think he has starter talent. If Indy wants to improve their odds going forward, they need to gauge the trade value for him this offseason.
Great coaching job by Doc. He outclassed Mark Jackson in every way tonight.
All this, " These playoffs are crazy! Anyone can win!" and we are still gonna have the same Final Four that everyone has been saying for months. At least the journey there is enjoyable.
Best game 7 in these playoffs thus far.
Geaux CP3!!!
Yeah Lillard is nice but I'm not even sure I'd put him in my top 5. Can't say I'd take him over Paul, Curry, Westbrook, Rose(if he can come back healthy), or Rondo(*see Rose)
Can't we just enjoy Lillard without trying to say he's the top pg ? Love watching the kid, very very entertaining; but he's not there.
Lillard is better than Rose IMO. His entire game is predicated on getting to the rim. He has no jumper. He was MVP because the writers didn't want to give it to LBJ again.
I just don't think he's a PG. He's a slightly short SG. He doesn't get assists or facilitate anywhere near enough to be a top PG.
And don't take that as a knock. I think he one of the best if not the best SG in the league. I'd take him over Harden and while he might not be Kobe if I'm building a future team I pick Lillard.
Next to Jrue, I'd give up almost anything. Instead of Jrue to play PG? Eh.

Agree, I see Batum as more of a facilitator on that team. Lillard is in a perfect situation. Batum can handle and you can run offense through the post too. Guy is an amazing shooter and he is fearless, but he isn't the top PG, he is just a guy currently on our mind right now. But heck, Dragic had a better season than hims. At least 5-7 PG's did.
We cant be prisoners of the moment.
I just hope more NBA crowds become like Toronto's.. That was incredible to watch..
Dam man...Lowry trying to be the hero on that last shot. Smdh
Don't be a prisoner of the moment, and continue to downplay the fact that the kid is on a clear path to being a top 10 player in this league...wouldn't be the first time people cut off their nose in spite of their face.
Why couldn't we have gotten half of the production that Trevor Ariza is currently giving the wizards? This dude is running the floor and pulling threes like Klay Thompson confidently and making them. This sort of frustrates me.
holy hell... Ariza is 5/5 from 3 and the Wizards are up 13 at half over Indy
Oh. There was a game after that one, wasn't there?
Roy Hibbert... :help:
Seeing how the Wizards are doing, I have to assume they are going to keep Ariza. I can't imagine they let him walk now. Which might be a good thing for us. Make a play for Webster? I mean they have to give Porter minutes to develop.
They need to get his contract off the books. We might be able to get him for cheap.
CP33333333!!!!!
32pts, 10ast while shooting 12-14 in 28 minutes.
I have said Rivers and Ely for a few weeks. Could make some sense for them. Cuts over 2.5 mil and gives them a young guard and opens up time at SF for not only Porter, but Glen Rice Jr who they also like
That said, if I were them, I would just dump Porter now and go with the known commodities. And no, I would not be interested in Porter
