i thought he was resigning with the spurs...

Spurs bleeding talent this off-season. Parker coming off a major injury. Manu potentially retiring. Dedmond and Simmons jumping ship. Both Lee and Gasol still FA's to boot.
They'll need significant improvement from young guys in order to stay a true contender in the West imo.
Of course, every year is the year the Spurs get too old.
I'm still curious if Evan Fournier is on the market.

No further discussion on Jackson? Competition for Rondo. Knicks call off trade with Melo to reconsider. Would love to hear some good news. I think Diallo and Cooks were positives in summer league.
Diallo will make asik and ajinca expendable if he continues to play like this
Man I really wish we could make this move. Fournier or Middleton would be perfect fits here and I think both are available. We have the assets but I'm sure we don't wanna give up to much. He's a good passer as well which is nice to have at the SG position. Reminds of a mix between Klay/Manu. He would thrive here being the 4th option instead of the main focus when teams play the Magic.
You get it. We need some offensive rebounders to give us second chance shots with our second team. I like Speights too and didn't even know he was available. I'd take him over black in that role just for experience. Black is one of the guys that would have been a good upside signing.

The Eric Bledsoe mega-trade:
Suns: Etwaun Moore, Trevor Ariza, & Alexis Ajinca (they would get a pick as well)
Rockets: Carmelo Anthony
Knicks: Brandon Knight & Ryan Anderson (they would get a pick too)
Pelicans: Eric Bledsoe & Chasson Randle (make the trade work for Knicks)
Would probably have to include some draft picks to facilitate the move.
Prediction: the first shoe will drop Sat/Sun. Then the rest of the roster will be near completion by the end of the coming week.
The problem I have with this off-season is ppl saying there is gonna be a trade in 1 or 2 days and then nothing happens... 1st why mess up your credibility and 2nd that gives ppl false hope. I've heard a couple of posters claim that there will be a trade in 1 or 2 days and nothing happens, and then gets mad when ppl call them out.
rondo x cook x jackson..
jrue x moore x crawford..
hill x G.green x A.poythress
AD x t.jones
cousins x mo.speights x ajinca
playoff team....
If you are looking to me or anyone else for insider info, don't. Your right you'll be disappointed. I don't have insider type credibility, nor ever claimed to. I don't even live in Louisiana. I live in Maryland. So if I say something will happen its not because I know something on the inside. I just am looking at the situation. We just finished summer league. I believe teams wanted to see Cook play and was waiting until they saw the full body of work over these few games. I think he's an asset now Dell has to make trades.
Also, I don't think anyone making a prediction or speculating on a direction is any different than somebody posting possible lineups or proposing trades. Its just the fun of being part of forum of this type.
Yeah. I took what you said as just a guess from a regular poster. No flack should head your way. I do get what the other poster is saying, though. I have a gigantic pair of blue basketballs so over inflated I can't dribble around with them, right now. We are sensitive. And so many people claim to have inside info, and we are a bit desperate for it, that we are seeing mirages.
The optimist side of me feels like it will be any day now. The other part thinks it may be closer to the trade deadline. The truth is not that the media is being worse than usual, it's that we actually care and are invested this go around.
That's the one player that I'd prefer over Bledsoe. If we traded for Fournier, then signed Rondo or Lawson we would be a top 4 seed in the stacked West next year. Obviously we'd have to shed some salary to make it work, but I'd be willing to trade two firsts to get it done. He would be the perfect player to add to this team and take it to the next level.
Free agent Rajon Rondo has reached agreement on a one-year deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, league sources tell The Vertical.

I really do think that could be good. Some of the anti-Rondo rhetoric has gotten ridiculous in recent years. Still a very talented dude with a ton of experience. Easily the 4th most talented guy on the team, and on talent alone I wouldn't just gift Jrue that 3rd spot. the only real concern is how this effects the Boogie-PG idea, given that now the backcourt is ball dominant too. But in the past, teams with big-men centric rosters have not infrequently used dual ballhandling backcourts to balance things out and keep the big dogs fed.
I really feel like this is the right move. We get our ball handler, and don't gut he team or trade picks to make it happen. Another Kentucky guy, another Cousins friend. No long term obligation. It's a win.
This is good signing and will make Boogie happy and that's the important thing right now . We'll be a playoff team next year then anything can happen .

I hate when coaches force players into a system. I love when a coach can take their system and adapt it to a player. Rondo does not fit the typical Gentry system but he has played well with Boogie in the past. Along with bringing in Finch, this move shows me they are trying to mold something around what they have and not just trying to bang cogs into the machine.
Well how about this one:
Suns: Etwaun Moore, Trevor Ariza, & Alexis Ajinca
Rockets: Carmelo Anthony
Knicks: Brandon Knight & Eric Gordon
Pelicans: Eric Bledsoe & Shawn Long
It doesn't matter anyway since we signed Rondo. Depth chart:
C: Cousins, Asik, Ajinca
PF: Davis, Diallo
SF: Hill, QPon, Toupane
SG: Holiday, Moore, Crawford
PG: Rondo, Cook, Jackson
Now we need a power forward and maybe another 3. Or we resign Cunningham and knock out 2 birds with one stone?!?
with speights we would have 3 cs that can spread the floor and i think we can get him for less than he made last season or the clipper offer him more and he resign back with them....t. jones played good when AD was injured and he will cost us less...so im thinking we get 2 for 1 with them for what dante made last season........
G.green should be cheap as a back up SF and he is still a shooting threat so he opens up the floor too.....poythress is another cheap player at SF plus he can be apart of the Kentucky pelicans lol or miller makes the team.......
I dont know how the money thing goes with dante because he opt out his contract and we dont know how much dante want or how long of a contract he wants......now if we can sign him then yes i want him back....
rondo x cook x jackson
jrue x moore x crawford
hill x G.green x Cunningham
AD x t. jones x cunningham
cousins x mo.speights x ajinca
