He is tweeting that they have love for Sac area, yet retweeting Pelican fans about how we are excited and ready for him to become a Pelican
I predicted that by this page we'd have our answer...
Tch. I might've undershot it by about 20 pages.

Earlier story clearly pointed in this direction, but just heard Pelicans & Tyreke Evans are indeed now in process of finalizing offer sheet

You can see more about his brothers and the relationship he has with them here.
Kings fan saying Vasquez is as good of a defender as Evans:

Indeed. Agreeing to sign is only the conclusion to act 1. When he signs it is the start of act II. The end of that act will be if the Kings match.
We aren't even half way through this dang thang.
x The grass over there sure looks green...
Oh yeah Kings, he's a real lock down defender.
Evans brother's twitter has nothing of us on it. He's simply using all of the publicity his brother is getting right now to pimp his ventures. He's simply retweeting others comments and saying nothing other than "we don't hate Sac."
We got the verbal agreement!
Sam Amick @sam_amick 3m
Tyreke Evans has given the New Orleans Pelicans a verbal agreement that he'll sign the four-year, $44 million offer sheet, I'm told.ESPN 1st
Remember, verbal agreement means we have to trade Lopez now, even if we find out Sacto plans to match. Dangerous game
IMO, the NBA and players need to come to an agreement to restructure free agency. This **** is ridiculous! You can negotiate 10 days before signings are allowed.
Nice. But I'd still rather a sign and trade because it guarantees he comes here rather than us dumping a player or two to make room for him, only to have Sacramento match.
I wonder what the original intent of this was? Makes no sense that he has to wait until the 10th and then kings get three days to match n the entire time the pelicans have to act like its already spent $. Giving up players in case kings don't match. Dumb policy IMO
I'm okay, after much deliberation, with the deal itself. But if we lose Robin Lopez for absolutely nothing, I'd be pretty upset.
BTW can we get some topic title editing here? It hasn't been a rumor for three days and we've just taken the next step.
Does anyone think that the Kings are forced to match given that they have a new ownership group and have to show they're serious about putting a good product out on the court?
I wouldn't be calling for that just yet. According to sources, no one knows what the hell is going on, and someone may come in at the last minute like a thief in the night. The Kings could also just ruin the party themselves, because they may feel like they don't want to disappoint their fanbase with a empty-handed FA period.
This is all a diversion.
We're going to actually just swoop up Dwight.
Back when Anthony was 6'3" they decided to play together. So Dwight gave him some of that growth harmone he's been using.
I wonder if our offer prohibits a S&T. I say that because there has been a lot of speculation that the structure of the contract includes a trade kicker to dissuade the Kings from matching (in case they think they can match and deal him elsewhere). If indeed it does have a kicker in the structure, once the Kings sign him (as he would want the same structure we offered) and try to trade to us, I would think that the kicker would activate making him much more expensive to us.
BTW, Arn Tellem is the agent for Robin Lopez, Quincy Pondexter, Greivis Vasquez, Tyreke Evans, and Anthony Davis. I'd say he can pretty much dictate what happens here.
Wow! before Evans agreed we had 80 pages. Now that he did we barely got 4 pages!
Mods can we start a part 2 of this thread.....

Can someone please clear this up?
If we don't decline Lopez which I think is too big a risk, can we still have Evans sign the offer sheet?
Then once the Kings don't sign, can't we just trade both Vasquez and Lopez for what ever we can to get under the cap?
Or does our current cap situtation not allow us to even offer this to Evans?
Thank you
Why do we have to take the risk of losing Robin Lopez by declining the option on his contract? The NBA salary cap is a soft one. Tom Benson has got enough money to cover our butts if Tyreke Evans signs and we still have Lopez on the books; luxury tax, smuxury tax! This is not George Shinn's Hornets any longer. WE ARE PELICANS!!! Spend that money, Tom --- make it rain!
