Today's the first day we can trade our non guaranteed contracts.

Pursuing Nick Young at least showed we're trying to upgrade and add scoring in the backcourt. That's a sign we should have acquired a big scorer by the end of the offseason. I can't see our only acquisitions being Darius Miller, Frank Jackson, and Jrue re-signing, while we have Cousins and AD on our roster. We managed to get Cousins in a trade so something has to be in the works to keep adding big talent. No way we can sit on our hands watching one of the biggest offseasons go by while having two top 5-10 players on our roster
Looking at our past few offseasons we didn't make major moves of note until July 9-21. In 2014, we gave up a first rounder to Houston for Asik on 7/15. We re-signed Asik, Ajinca, Cunningham, and AD on the 9th in 2015. And last year we signed Hill and Moore on 7/21. That's probably looking too deep into things, but there's still time during the rest of this month for the FO to make something happen
Lol, I went to go check that out. With all the profanity he was using insulting people questioning his sources probably wouldn't be allowed on this board. I don't follow the guy personally, or BSS or any of the "bloggers" they have but reading that childish rant, was very unprofessional. Just solidified my decision not to follow him or BSS.
It is speculation at this point, but I'm guessing Demetrius Jackson is involved in some form of trade talks. No reason for him not to play.

Demetrius Jackson now in. So that no PG look was just trying something.

There's the honeymoon, pass a physical, plus some of of our non guarantee contracts couldn't be traded till today. I still think it'll be the end of summer league before moves are made. Definately don't want a move just to make one and most of the free agents I could careless about. I'm still hoping for a trade with the magic or worst case trade for D Wade.
Crawford has now signed with the Timberwolves.
Look at what a solid Head Coach and front office brings to the table.
This team from Jimmy Butler on down is a huge player now in the West.
Possibly, but at this point there are several guys that would upgrade the team. I would be happy with either but I prefer Bledsoe.
Thought I read that somewhere, thanks.
I think this is a possibility. Another possibility are guys we aren't even thinking about. Dell is good at that. Did anyone see the Cousins trade coming?
I don't have proof but there is no way Dell doesn't have several backup contingencies prepared. As far as we know right now Young looked like our main target but if there are trade talks behind the scenes, which Dell likes to keep things, Young may only have been a piece to the puzzle and not the whole thing. We signed 3 guys last year. I expect something similar this year. At least 2 or 3 new guys not including Miller and the rookie.
This, hopefully something gets done before camp starts to at least get everyone acclimated. But as long as something happens by the start of the season that improves the team I can live with it.
Would anyone want Reke back? He can likely be had on the cheap and it appeared that Gentry covets at least one guy on the team with that style, see Stevenson. Can we sign him if we wanted to since we traded him?
Evans is now with Memphis
Peja. Legend. #NBASummer https://t.co/CI7FxjMDec boy we could sure use someone of Peja's caliber right now. One of my all time favoriteshttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...869070063a.jpg

Guys as fans everywhere of all sports wants their team to win.
People push the envelope of playoffs playoffs really believing the hype from media and team mgmt.
I hope we realistically improve to .500 this coming season.
40 wins is what this roster is capable of as is.
Taking into account what we have for a Head Coach and GM. Do I wish Darren Erman would get his chance absolutely but for now it's Alvin Gentry. I know I am considered a TROLL because I don't drink the Kool Aid as most on this forum.
I support this ball club as a season ticket holder. I am a fan of the game also. I just don't believe the Hype that most on this forum believe. That don't mean I am against the Pelicans it's just I don't see this massive beast mode ball club as others on here do.
It still don't discount my loyalty to the franchise. I enjoy the games at the Blender and I travel to some road games as well.
Negative! You are not considered a Troll because you don't drink the Kool aid. You are considered a troll because you constantly push the same negative outlook about just about everything dealing with the team. Lots of members are skeptical about the state of the franchise but to constantly push negativity down the throats of the members that rather just enjoy and appreciate what we do have and feel fortunate to have two top 20 players currently is not necessary. Some of us just enjoy the game and the process. And at the end of the day that's all it is, just a game and some entertainment. Constantly dwelling on the negative brings no excitement. We all know this team, coach, and GM has some flaws but at the same time any team with AD and boogie arguably the best pf and center has reason for excitement.
Sources: Bulls pulled qualifying offer on forward Joffrey Lauvergne, making him unrestricted free agent. Several teams showing interest.

domino #1 for any Lin trade to New Orleans scenario has fallen
Wizards make it official, match Otto Porter Jr.’s offer sheet from the Nets https://t.co/NOg1EbfaXx
— Post Sports (@PostSports) July 9, 2017
edit: maybe not yet
Porter still has to take a physical for Wizards, so the official match won’t happen until early next week. But it’s happening.
— David Aldridge (@daldridgetnt) July 9, 2017
the BKN money may still be tied up until the physical is done and dusted
I'll offer this, because some of us have rooted for terrible teams for years on end and know exactly what it looks like. Year after year fans attempt to convince themselves this season will be better and like clockwork it turns out to be bad.
Now you can hope and pray and wish all you want. Don't get all mad because others dont put much of a premium on hoping.
Toronto has traded DeMarre Carroll, a future first-round and second-round pick to Brooklyn for Justin Hamilton, league sources tell ESPN.
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) July 9, 2017
For Toronto, this was a salary dump of the $30M owed Carroll across next two seasons. Both picks to Nets are 2018. https://t.co/AcK98wnLzp
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) July 9, 2017
Carroll can become Nets starting small forward in short-term. Kenny Atkinson coached him in Atlanta, loves getting chance to do it again.
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) July 9, 2017
I'm neutral... just trying to report actual news
just saying that if the rumors of the Pels being interested in Lin are true... the Nets needed to free up the money from the Porter offer sheet... which happened or is about to officially happen
then BKN is going to throw an offer at KCP
should he sign there... that should make Lin expendable and the Pelicans can make the play
Yeah. You're still doing it.
Who said anything about hope? What, like I don't know we've got issues from the top down? I'm not talking about the team's future outlook. I'm talking about what you're focusing on and how I always see people with a negative opinion of things who insist they're the only ones who can accept the truth. And the fact that you actively hold your view over others like it's superior.
You don't need to hope. To each their own.
So on the flip side of to each their own, do you need to tell other people that their actions are a waste or will turn out badly? If it was an act of altruism, that'd be one thing. In my experience, it's more for the negative type's own benefit in some nihilistic way.
Why are we so worried about getting Lin? He is not going to make or break the team. Unless we are offloading Asik then it's not even worth the worrying.

Nobody is trading for Asik. Let it go.
It's not likely. Doesn't mean it won't happen. I mean, not like teams trade for players then buy them out. I mean, Jamal Crawford was due a not insignificant sum of feta wasn't he? How much more did the Hawks eat than a team would eat if they bought out Asik right now?
No matter how bad you guys want to move on from him it boils down to another team wanting to take him. Asik has 0 trade value.
Oh man oh man. I've missed you.
But how did you know we posted about you? Hahaha.
It's definitely an interesting life. Lol
And I am back saved in here until my next phone upgrade.
I really dislike MM. I would probably choose Buckwheat over him, to be honest. But even if the trade happens he could still have inside info. Like someone said earlier, he could be hearing that we are trying insanely hard to get someone and then it just doesn't work out.....so the trade doesn't happen but he still had inside info.
Asik lost a lot of weight. Maybe he worked on his stroke. Got his 3pt % into the 40s and can play SF.
Cost of dumping Carroll was lottery protected first and late second rounder. But he still can play. And is owed 30 millions.
Asik is owed 25 nad cannot play recently.
I think that to dump him you will need top-10;protected first and second rounder.
Which means attaching him to Lin you will need probably two firsts. And Bledsoe? Jeez...
I'd rather stretch him and use AA and QPon in a trade
btw. is Asik fit again ? did not hear anything after his bacterial infection
I haven't seen or heard any news on him since march or so. Someone said they had caught sight of him at a restaurant with a few ladies still looking very skinny. I imagine he isn't in good shape, otherwise the Pels would be doing their best to pump out the positive spin on him in hope of trying to move him. I think a buyout is the best option, that way we keep our pick (which its going to cost at least a first and second) and just wear the money side of things - but he needs to agree obviously.
All this trade talk for bledsoe... is this simply this board making this up as a 'I wish this will happen' or is there some substance to it?
When healthy that dude is a superb player and we'd end up with 4 quality starters.
What about getting Wes Mathews and dare I say Harrison Barnes from the Mavs. I think that is exactly what this team needs. Barnes as a 3rd/4th option with Jrue. Barnes is younger then Gordon Hayward and much cheaper while having just as good of a season if not better with absolutely no help. Barnes did exactly what many hear doubted and consistently created his own shot shooting a very good FG%. He was literaly the only players teams were worried about hurting his 3pt% but here that would. It be an issue. Having 2 bigs like AD and Boogie would be an even better fit for Barnes then GS imo. While Mathews is the perfect 3 and D SG for this team to start with Crawford off the bench. I don't know if the Mavs want to be that bad for Dirks last 2 years though. Never know sometimes teams go into sell mode so it's hard to predict how available they even are. Acquiring those 2 guys would give us a squad I would feel very good about

Lotta snakes out there #grasscut
Hmmmmm......
Not that I don't appreciate knowing what the league is doing, but it is more or less reminding Pelican fans of what is not happening for the Pelicans. It is becoming evident the team invested money in fringe players who have little or no value on trade day. I am at a point where you put the young guys out there with the big three and see what you have. Asik has no business on this team, and I am not a fan of some of the other veterans either. I go with the youth.
Honestly I don't question the fact that he has a good source with legitimacy regarding the knowledge of the thniking of the FO. But every single time he comes with a new (and false) inside info regarding a move, I question more and more the quality of the info. I suspect that the front office use MM to throw rumors around to test fan reactions and also to create smokescreen.
Not related but I have to confess, I'm impress by Sean Marks. He went into a terrible situation and turn it around with patience.
