My gut is that it will be Hopson and Babbitt
Like the left hand finishes in traffic.
I am officially calling it an upgrade :)
Just got Hopson. Looks like him and Babbitt most likely
There are conflicting reports on Hopson's salary. I am hoping it is just him. But we will know soon enough. We still haven't heard any word that Babbitt will definitely be included. Have been told Hopson this whole time.
BTW - I am sorry about the Frodo's kid clue. I thought his name was Hobson. Hobbit Son - Hobson.
Sorry, I am terrible at clues
shamsports has hopson at 1.45MM
So we are not keeping Hobson?
so either Babbitt or ajinca have to go
who ya got?
I say keep Babbitt in case ryno is slow to come back
Apparently we don't have to trade Babbitt, another point for Dell!
I want to see the counter arguments for this offseason now. Lost Morrow, Roberts, and Aminu. Gained Asik, Casspi, Smith, Young, and another SF is coming. Kept every single core piece and all the prospects with upside. This team is super deep, young, and still has room to make moves.
Dell worked magic this summer. Hats off.
So we kept Babbitt? B/c that's all I really care about now that I realized that we apparently can't even trade Rivers for a Gatorade cooler.
So, does Dell get to grandstand about math and analytics at the Sloan Conference this year, or is he still not smart enough for that crowd?
Because it looks like he took their Godfather to the cleaners this offseason.
My guess is guys like Pelton will have no clue everything it took to pull this off, going back to last season. Months of work. Finding the nooks and crannies of the CBA. Props.
McNamara, I see Houston used Casspi mainly as a perimeter four last season. I've thought of him as a SF. Thoughts?
Awesome. I really like Babbitt coming in to play Ryno when he's out. I really think that guy can be just a solid 3pt shooting stretch 4. Play like 10 minutes a game or so.
I just really can't understand why people are all over Marion right now. I just think we need more offense, preferably shooting from the SF spot now w/ the paint safe and sound w/ AD/Asik.
I'd rather someone like Hamilton than Marion. But I can see the leadership aspect and "been there done that' playoff mentality of The Matrix.
I think Russ, Babbitt, Ajinca/Young have to be interchangeable on that list.
Plus if we give another D-League guy a shot. You'd have to think that with our guard plethora they'll sit one and then one of the bigs.
Only if I could have shipped out Rivers and kept Morrow. [We will never know what Morrow wanted.] Either way, pending the SF we sign via the Room MLE, this looks like a grade A off season.
Is Jason Smith gone, too? If so, we are losing our top three veteran leaders: Morrow, Roberts, and J. Smith.
According to a report we aren't bringing Smith back.
Check out where Marions 3s are coming from too.
We have guys who can hit threes from the wings. We need corner threes.

Can't think of Marion as a 3pt shooter, dude made less than 1 per game last season.
I just want to see the press conference where Mr. Demps says those beautiful words "Yesterday, we acquired Center Omer Asik from the Houston Rockets."
That'll make me happy.
any idea what the first round protection is on the pick?
I don't think we need a deadly 3 point shooter there that will launch them at every chance, but rather a guy that can hit it if left open and keep the floor spread for our top scorers. Marion fits that role perfectly and brings great defense and leadership as well.

now if we had lebron, we'd be a title contender.
i am predicting a ryno for a legit SF trade. Casspi and Asik are his replacements. I still think there's a major Ryno/EG trade in the books before mid season.
So theoretically next offseason we could let Asik walk and his 8.5 mill, use that money for a legit SF AND offer deandre Jordan max contract with EG gone? If so sign me up now.
Agree with this. With Jrue, Gordon, Evans, Anderson, and Davis, we don't need a guy who shoots a ton. We need a guy who can space the floor and be a threat to knock down a 3. Throw in his experience, defense, and rebounding and this team would go from one of the worst to one of the best in just 1 year.
Dealer Demps, what a guy. The way he's got it going we'll be able to underplay for players soon the way contenders do.
Good job Demps!
