His defense isn't as good as Aminu, especially the rebounding. Honestly, I would take Aminu since he's much younger.
They'll still have Parker, Ginobili, Stephen Jackson, Danny Green, 3pt shooters Gary Neal and Matt Bonner, Splitter. I just hope the Hornets don't go in thinking it's an instant win because Pop, Duncan and Leonard aren't there.
And there is no way we are being bias here with regard to Aminu vs. Brewer?
My question to you: All 30 GM's have a choice- Aminu or Brewer at the same price for the next 3 years. How do you think the vote goes down?
No TD, Leonard and Coach Pop. We could take this.
I have been a huge Aminu fan these past few weeks, but one thing that doesnt show up in his box scores that you have to factor in is how much he shrinks the space for other players because teams just cheat off him so much.
Tonight, when the Hornets are in the half court, just watch Aminu's man. There is zero respect for his perimeter game and that forces the other guys to play 4-on-5. Trust me, once the playoffs come, that will go up to another level and teams will force Aminu to beat them from there.
And of course it is at this point we always hear that "He is still young and he can develop the jumper." But c'mon, let's be real. Dell can't operate based on hope, he has to deal with the real world, the one in which Aminu will likely always be an offensive liability. Long term, he is a great backup or maybe a starter if you have 4 offensive studs who can still succeed playing 4 on 5, but that is a stretch.
Why does it matter? He's a back up playing a starting role. With Brewer, it's the same deal.. just different deficiencies. Both are career backups. None are viable solutions. If I had to choose between the two, I'd choose the cheaper option and find a viable solution.
Did he just say the Spurs are on a 14 game home winning streak?
I'd rather Brandon Jennings over any of the above mentioned tbh.
And to me, if you get Jennings, then you can get away with Aminu at SF. Two guards who can create for themselves and others no matter who is guarding them, a 3pt mad bomber, and a guy who will become the best rim runner in the game in Davis. With those 4, you can get by with Aminu's lack of half court offense. That is my dream team (that is realistic)
I've been envisioning the same team with Brewer over Aminu for the same reason you indicated above---floor spacing. I also have little faith that Aminu can ever develop a respectable jumper, whether it be a mid-range jumper or a long-range jumper. But you think a Jennings could patch that up. Interesting opinion.
That's correct.

Agreed- which is why Lopez cant be the long term starter at C. It is Ryno and AD up front and Davis needs to become a rebounder like Dwight was in his prime to get by with below average defensive rebounders like Anderson and Gordon (and Brewer in this case). But again, Brewer has been asked to play a lot of SG over his career, hasn't been asked to crash the boards, so we don't know for sure that he isn't capable. He is 6'9", super long, and athletic. He should at least be able to be average if it was asked of him by Monty
Is davis playing?
Gordon's shot is becoming like it used to be, figured it was just rust
Well, Gordon hit his first jumpshot. That's a good sign.
apparently splitter is hakeem okajuwon
Apparently Anthony Davis is Karl Malone.
Davis is the next Garnett its not even funny his midrange is also further along than kgs was
This is the problem with just a "Help Defense" system. Good teams will runs plays knowing exactly what will happen to your defense.
They keep running the same play.
We need Gordon to cover Parker. Vasquez can't keep up.
Pelican man? Really...
Cant wait to see how good davis is in 3 years, best PF in the league I'm betting
yikes, they are getting dunks
Too easy..good timeout
Looks like Gordon is getting a lil more comfortable with each game
davis!
Davissssssss
damn it 2 fouls on davis
davis with 2 already
spurs announcers just called Aminu "Rouq Al Aminu" more original than the kings "Amino"
Foul trouble for Davis. See you in 15 minutes... ugh
Splitter looks like a chicken.
EG!
we really feel comfortable playing this spurs team.
Damn, Gordon's shot is really starting to get back to form.
offense lookin niceeeee
Is Aminu the best rebounding SF in the league minute for minute?
