Well ok then.
Wow
Yeah I don’t get the concept we should be continuously tanking for assets. We already have the assets. We have the best single prospect in years, 4 or 5 additional young/rookie talented players, 5 first round picks in the next 3 years, like 7 second round picks, and expiring contracts in the next few years that time up perfectly to add max level talent just as our younger players hit their prime.
I mean the above is exactly what you are tanking for, and we have it right now. It’s not about accelerating the rebuild, it’s just that we are already past phase 1 (accumulate assets). We are on phase 2 (compete while developing young players, maintain flexibility for the future).
After that it’s ??

Can't embed for some reason. Payton gone. I hate to see it, but it's obvious we couldn't keep him I guess.

Very good post. This is what I think as well. Griffin has a general plan but often you have to act when opportunity shows up. I would also try to extend Favors now and definitely this is way better move than signing Horford to a philly like contract. I would actually hate it
I wonder about Moore. There seems to be a general consensus that he will be gone. The more I think about it though the more I think that he fits the current roster more than the previous one. He is a very solid shooter and defender with average handles and IMO he struggles with shot creation but with facilitators like Ball or Zion he could give us solid production. He often played SF position and didnt do too bad. His also seems to be a high character guy. I think we might keep him.
I hate to see it, but we have too many guards on the roster atm. Good for Elfrid- I hope he does well.
Someone needs to put out a wellness check on MSU now that Elf is definitively gone.

[QUOTE=Sleeper;1499584]Depends on what we want to do at point guard. If we are going with NAW and Frank as backups there then keeping Moore makes sense. Will Ingram play some at the point? Will Jrue? Can we get someone like Rondo on the cheap? Can we swap Moore for Dunn from the Bulls?
Too many questions

Edit: Kemba Walker and Enes Kanter guarding both ends of a pick and roll LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOL :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:
I agree with that. Moore is a guy who should be a team's like 7-9 type bench player. Instead he got the 5th most minutes on our team last year, in a season we were tanking after the all star break. The guy who got the 4th most minutes? Darius Miller.
We never had enough true starter players so Moore was forced into bad positions. Most of the 6-10 type players need talent around them to really be successful.
This season we've got a solid starting lineup, good bench depth, and a lot of talented youth so Moore shouldn't need to shoulder as much responsibility. His fit with this team's need is actually a good one.
Excellent rebuttal.
Also, I'm hearing waves of Kawhi doing a 1+1 with the Raptor's.
If Ingram don't work out. We can make room for a max next year. If Hayes and Zion show out next year. I'd throw a max at Kahwi with little hesitation. Would he come to NOLA..
I'm 99.9 positive that is a nope
Well now that Knicks have signed Payton, I might just rather keep Moore

Once we started making like we were keeping Lonzo, I knew it was coming. My boy......
But it's redundant having both Payton and Ball....so I get it.
I'm not crying because of Elfrid. I just got through watching The Land Before Time. That's all. I'm good. I swear.
Don't ping my cell signal. I'm not driving back from NYC.
.....we went......9 and 0.......
How much cap do we have left
Gotcha thanks guys

Absolute steal for Golden State. That's a bargain.
Also takes another high quality roleplayer off the market. LA's market looking dryyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
So do we really see Naw and Jackson as point guards? A lagniappe move would be to trade Moore for Dunn from the Bulls in a three team trade so Bulls can shed salary. Just don’t know if he would be good with coming off the bench.

Jackson? Probably not. NAW? Sure, he's a combo guard. He played a ton of the 1 in college and was fine there.
The problem with proposing a trade for Dunn is that Dunn is not very good and you shouldn't want to give up assets for him, and yes, Moore is more of an asset at this point.
I also think this obsession with having ''point guards'' is kind of a weird view to take. You don't need ''point guards'' you need competent ball handlers and good decision makers. We have a ton of those. Jrue, Lonzo, Zion, NAW, Hart, and even Ingram to an extent are all at least solid ball handlers who can make decisions in the flow of an offense. That's fine. You don't need to go on a hunt for guys who are between 6'0'' and 6'4'', as if only their ball handling and passing counts.
Lakers fans nervous? I see he is trending on twitter but nothing has happened.

I really think at this point we can just hold on to moore. Moore to me has always been a pretty steady guy and think he fits here atm. However, come all-star break may be a time to evaluate if we would prefer to open up cap space for the future or even trade up somehow to make a run. You never know. Some time of adjustment first may help us determine what we will need going forward.
Very good post.
That's why I saw Elfrid was a goner. Ball will handle the....ball (that makes for an awkward sentence) but we have so many other players that can handle thale ball.....like Jimmy Butler, LeBron, Leonard.....we simply needed more shooters than we did true PGs.
