I don't think tyreke is an upgrade to Gordon and 11 million is WAY to much.
Lord please bring Reke to the n.o.....me personally.....I don't see this move meaning we def getting rid of Gordon. Don't see it. Never know tho.
Who would we trade to Sac? Vasquez doesn't really make sense for them.

The way I'm feeling about you got me feeling some type of way #new money
Don't ask me for translation, I don't know either =)
Quoting Travis Porter?
Could be an interesting tweet, not sure on the sourceQuote:

Chances Tyreke signs w/ NOLA low if they plan on using him at SF. Source close to Evans says Reke won't "go anywhere for any amount as a 3."
I don't buy it. There has to be strong interests on his part if he chose to meet with us first. I think people who are bringing up the SF talk are speculating based on the current personnel on the roster. I don't think anyone in the media has an idea of what our plans are for Evans just yet. I think I'd wait for a more credible source before I'd run with the statement.
Don't know if it's been posted but...

Tyreke Evans - G/F - Kings
The Pelicans could acquire restricted free agent Tyreke Evans via a sign-and-trade in exchances for Greivis Vasquez or Eric Gordon, per the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
The Pelicans met with Evans early Monday morning while the Kings haven't really done anything to help their chances in keeping the former Rookie of the Year. Sacramento selected shooting guard Ben McLemore, but they do have the room to bring Evans back. As for the Pelicans, they have a massive surplus at point guard with the acquisition of Jrue Holiday.
Dell wouldn't sell him on the idea of being a "small forward" . He would sell him on the ability to be another creator on a team that will push the pace and have Anthony Davis rim running while Ryan Anderson offers him an elite kick out option
Dell knows exactly what he is doing. Something has been brewing behind the scenes since the Nerlens trade whether it's GV, Gordon or both being shipped. I won't get any work done this week.
So off topic:
Smith wasn't declined?
This leaves Lopez, Roberts, Harris and Thomas to make room for a 'High' level FA.
A sign and trade with Gordon only decreases his value. Also I cannot say this enough. I'd rather Gordon if Evans will command that money. Plus that money could go to iggy who is a better fit.
Tyreke Evans:
$11 million/year
Height: 6'6
23 years old
15.2 PPG
47.8% FG%
33.8% 3PT%
77.5 FT%
4.4 rebounds
3.5 assists
1.4 steals
2.0 TO
PER: 18.16....good enough for 5th amongst all SG's in the league
Eric Gordon:
$14+ million/year
Height: 6'3
24 years old
17 PPG
40.2% FG%
32.4% 3PT%
84.2% FT%
1.8 rebounds
3.3 assists
1.1 steals
2.8 TO
PER: 15.43.....good enough for 14th amongst all SG's
I mean, I can definitely see why we would be interested. Throw in the attitude and knee problem, and it's pretty much a no brainer. I just don't know what they are going to do with Gordon.
And remember, positions are all about what you can defend.
Evans has a 6'11'' wingspan. Would have no problem covering 95% of small forwards, at least from a physical standpoint. Monty has to teach him the mental part.
But as far as measureables and athletic abilty, he is about as tall and long as Shabazz, but much quicker and stronger. So, if Shabazz was drafted as a SF and his profile is similar to guys like Caron Butler, then Tyreke can easily guard 3's
Nothing happened? I am disappoint.
Exactly. Look at Iguodala and Kyle Korver. What in the world do they do similarly on offense? Nothing. So, how can we call them the same position on offense?
Offense is about skill sets. The reason I don't love Tyreke with Gordon and Jrue is because the skill sets dont compliment each other at all. But on defense, yeah I think those guys could defend the 1, 2, and 3 positions
Evans recently bought a brand new house in Sac suburb. Can't see him wanting to leave if he did that being a FA.
Pels made their pitch... its out of our hands now and up to Tyreke. I'm guessing 'Reke will weigh all of his options and get pitches from other teams. I can respect that. I can't get mad or upset if we offered him good coin to come to N.O. and he rejects.
Props to Dell/Monty for going after the guy(s) they want.
Houses can be sold. Besides, most athletes have multiple houses
Marc Stein (ESPN) says if we can't land Evans we'll go after Martin, who Minnesota is also pursuing.
http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/pos...-in-full-swing
I want Martin just so he can stop hitting all those 3s on us.
Basically he's strongly attracted to our offer. 4/$44m is a lot of new money!
If you dump Gordon (Gordon to Bulls for Deng, Deng to Cleveland for 2nd rounder), you'd have $15m left to play with in free agency.
Paying Evans $3-4m less to play SG than unreliable Gordon would be a coup for the Pelicans.
Honestly, it is much easier for me to get excited about Martin than Evans, especially if contract is 3 years, around 25 million versus Tyreke at 4 for 44.
Martin was very efficient last season and provides the spacing we need for Jrue and AD.
Move Gordon to a team with cap space, sign Martin and Iggy, and I am good to go
I just can't see anyone taking EG after last year.
Martin is no better at reliability than Gordon. We are not talking Sacramento Martin. I'm in for landing Evans or Iggy. Should be exciting to say the least.
I wouldn't mind Martin he just needs to realize he isn't the #1 option here.
I think everybody (including myself) is deathly afraid to see Martin as a defender. He's a bonafied scorer and will DEFINITELY space the floor. he draws ALOT fouls (flops) too.
I like 'Reke's ability to get to the rim and create for himself and others. If we were to keep Gordon we'd have 3 guys in the starting lineup that can create for themselves AND run an effective P/R. We need one more shooter though. Regardless of who we sign (Reke or Martin) we'll need one more SF, and I hope we go after a shooter.
My only problem with the pairing of Iggy and Martin is their age. One turns 30 this year and the other turns 30 next. Whereas Gordon and Evans are both in their mid-20s. But you can bet your last check that Gordon will miss time due to injury though... unfortunately.
