Ramona Shelburne: With interest in Hill strong, Lakers expect something more than cap relief in return for him. Twitter @ramonashelburne - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.RPsZf9YH.dpuf
Whoa it's crazy to think that even after giving Kobe 30M/yr the Lakers might actually get under the cap by moving Hill and Kaman.
Am I the only one who thinks Withey could develop into a nice bench player? I would prefer outright releasing Steimsma. He only has a little over a million left on his contract. I would think we could easily unload Morrow to create a roster spot. I thought I read Ajincia's contract was only guaranteed for the first year (although I do not think we would release him this soon after bringing him over from Europe). Miller could be a release candidate as well.
He could if he gets minutes. But where will he get them on this team? I mean, even if you don't bring back Hill and just resign Smith, he is fighting for a couple minutes a night with Ajinca in a best case scenario. Would have to put on 15 pounds this summer and drastically improve offensive game to lock down a rotation spot next year, and again, that is if we don't add anyone else

You clearly do not resign Steimsma (thank goodness). If you get Hill, hopefully you resign him. I am not sure Smith is a guarantee to resign, but if you do, he is a 4/5. Ajincia would be end of bench with Withey. He is young enough to develop slowly. If Withey develops quickly, you release Ajincia (do not think his second year is fully guaranteed).
I think Withey could be something special eventually. Even better than RoLo this year. He needs development, but I think he could be a very above average starter in two to three years. Yes, this post won't go over well.
