Thread: Gordon to Bucks ?

    Gordon to Bucks ?

According to Gery Woelfel of the Racine Journal Times, the Milwaukee Bucks were playing close attention to New Orleans Pelicans guard Eric Gordon last night. They could have stood to pay him a little more attention defensively, as he dropped 21 points on them in a 102-98 Pelicans win, but that’s not the kind of attention Woelfel was alluding to.

This team aint wining nothing with this coach, we can make all the excuses we want. Unfortunately excuses don't win games.

do they have anything the Pelicans would want?

I'm good on that, but wouldn't it be hilarious if he was traded to Milwaukee!

But you will have people that the cap space isn't enough. They want something of significant value. I'd just be happy with the cap space myself.

Doesn't make sense, they want to tank? I mean, gordon is meh, but it'd still give them a few more wins, if they didn't hit his knees with wrenches to stop him from going on the court. But i'd love to send him there. Can't think of a worse place, right now or in the forseeable future

Just browsed the RealGM Bucks forum for a few minutes. Some notes:

    1. http://forums.realgm.com/boards/view...f=21&t=1303799

The source of this rumor (Gery Woelfel) seems to have at least credibility. He's breaking other news and nobody there seems to be questioning him. I'm concluding that he's not the Bucks' version of Fletcher Mackel.

    2. http://forums.realgm.com/boards/view...9452&start=450

Bucks fans don't seem entirely opposed to the idea of trading for Gordon. A lot of them want Mayo gone. I think he's missed 9 straight due to "illness." We could probably do something like Mayo/Butler(expiring) for Gordon. We save about $7 million, and Milwaukee gets rid of $8 million in dead weight.

    3. I feel terrible for Bucks fans. It must be difficult to root for that team.

I doubt they would give up on Giannis or Henson this early at their salaries.

Larry Sanders... maybe. Butler (8m expiring) + Sanders for Gordon would work. We've seen the defense improve with Ajinca in there. I'd like to see it with Sanders & Davis. But Sanders could end up becoming a bigger liability than Gordon considering he has 2 more years on his contract than Gordon. But at least the good news is it's "only" 11 million a year. It's worth it if he's that 10/10 guy with great defense that he was last year. But it's not worth it for every other season he's played.

    Ideal (realistic) trade:

Caron Butler, Ekpe Udoh, Khris Middleton for Gordon

    What I would settle for:

Butler and Gary Neal for Gordon

    Wouldn't Do:

Mayo and Gary Neal for Gordon

Don't think we could/should do Mayo/Sanders or Mayo/Butler if available?

I think Mayo's contract is as bad as Gordon's, honestly.

I am not as big a fan of Sanders on this team as others are.

Unload Gordon, and if you just get back expirings, you have up to 17 mil this summer. If you get Gary Neal, that number is around 13. Would have plenty at the guard position IMO. Find yourself a wing and hope that Ajinca and/or Withey continue to develop in the offseason. Honestly, don't really need much on this team. Just some injury luck for once

    AD/Zaza/Ajinca/Withey

Not ideal, and it would suck to lose Smitty's leadership. But not terrible. Maybe you could move Pierre or Roberts and Withey for someone like Wilson Chandler in an uneven swap if Denver wants to free up space.

Not terrible, but I would just prefer expirings if possible

I would prefer the expirings as well, but it seems a little realistic considering what Monty wants.

Middleton is very good. Hes young and an awesome sharp shooter. Perfect small forward for this team

Obviously expirings would be preferable. But pretend you're Dell at the deadline. If Mayo/Butler is the best deal available, do you take it, or hang on to Gordon?

I'd be shocked if anyone trades only expirings for Gordon.

I cant believe I am saying this.... but, hang on to Gordon. Mayo saves you 7 mil next year, but I think you would be able to do better in July if you want to move Gordon.

Gotta hope Charlotte strikes out on better deals, and has to settle for Gordon

    Pelicans Receive:
    Ersan Ilyasova
    Gary Neal

    Bucks Receive:
    Eric Gordon

    I'll be fine with this.
