There is a logical scenario. I still think it’s more likely a smokescreen designed to make other teams commit to trading for #4.
Yea I cant see them taking the gamble moving up to #2 for Barrett. Morant is a pretty good fit for Memphis and would be highly surprised if we see Barrett go at #2 but who knows. Besides if we went @ #2 you got to pick Morant as he would be deadly in our offense.

I am very high on RJ, however I do not think it is worth giving up much assets outside of #4 to get him. Obviously I'm not saying #4 and #2 should swap evenly, but I don't think we should give up any Lakers picks if we can help it. What type of value do you guys think it would take to move from 4 to 2, also why 2 and not 3?

I think they could trade Ingram and #4 because Barrett is a similar player. 5 years of RJ and Zion together makes sense to me

Ingram doesn’t have as much value because he’s a RFA after the season.

Would you rather 1 or 2 years of Ingram or 4 or 5 years with Barrett. plus you have to consider the benefit of building team chemistry and loyalty with Zion. Bringing his best friend on board would likely increase the odds of him sticking with the franchise.

As long as we don't give away Ball. I may have been listening to too much NBA on XM but folks are really high on Ball paired with Zion. So many people feel that they will compliment each other in dynamic ways.

Then sign DLo Russell if the Nets sign Kyrie. Nah I’ll roll with Ball till 2021. If not then don’t sign no big contracts for a couple seasons and wait till 2021 to sign Dame Lillard after he’s tired of Portland. Hopefully we land a top pick next year to get a center since our team will be really young. If Zion & RJ are as good as I think they will be, Dame might jump to sign with us.

    PF: Zion
    SF: Ingram
    SG: Barrett
    PG: Lillard in 2021

I don’t care who my center is with that team.
Why in the world would you want to give all that up and take on Parsons' contract?

    But all valid points

This is smoke. Griffin is insuring that Culver will be there at 4 by boosting Barrett's stock

He wasn't better in college. What makes you think he will be better in the NBA?

What happens if the Knicks Knick and don’t draft RJ Barrett?
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

My question is this, if the trade isn't even finalized until July. Why are people still trying to trade Ingram or ball with the 4th pick? Is that possible? And even after it gets finalized don't you have to wait like 3 months before you can trade a player again? Am I tripping?

Because the trade can be changed up until it is finalized., There is no waiting period for a trade that has not even been finalized.

    That's for sure.

I would hope if we move to 2 it's for Morant.

Has a franchise ever had pick 1 and 2 before?

I've only seen it in the NFL, but not the NBA

Possibly but is it necessary? Memphis is taking Ja, NY is taking RJ.
