I would like to see his 3pt shot continue improving while getting stronger and continuing to develop which those 2 he wasn’t able to work on until not. For me a lot of what Ingram could average will depend on if we keep Ball or trade for someone like Beal where he will get less opportunities. As the roster sits I see Ingram averaging 20 ppg / 6 rpg / 5 apg while scoring very efficiently from FG around 47%-50% and a 3pt shot around 37%-41% and will will get better as the season goes.. I think he will thrive in Gentry’s system and be used a lot more to create for others like he has been at times in the past putting up triple doubles. His skill set fits very well imo with Zion as a similar skill set to RJ Barrett just much better and has a shot that looks to be legit. I could very well see his numbers in ppg rise after the all star break and he’s back in peak form but around 22-24 ppg is where we want him when at our best competing for rings!

I think Zion is going to do much better then some think. If you had watched him in college it is very obvious the NBA was built for a player with his skill set and college isn’t. Even with how college basketball is set up for him to not be as great he still put up the best PER ever.. The lanes were constantly clogged with the 3pt line keeping everything so tight. The spacing he will have and the wide open lanes where there is actually rules big men have to move will completely change this kids game. I can easily see him having a Blake Griffin tote season as an average season for himself. I can see Zion averaging 18 ppg and I can also see something like 24 ppg depending on how much we plan on getting him the ball. On a bad team I can easily see him having a rookie season with 25 ppg / 12 rpg / 3 apg.. The big thing is I don’t think we are a bad team and will actually be very good. I think Zion next season is rookie of the year while averaging a very efficient 22 ppg / 12 rpg / 3 apg .. shooting 55%+ FG and 34%+ 3pt.. I would not be disappointed one bit if he Is brought along and has a season with 18 ppg and 9 rpg but just on his athleticism alone and the NBA suiting his game he gets that in his sleep.
You think Ingram is better than Tatum?

He's not even the best SF on the Pelicans.

I mean, I guess it depends on whether you consider Zion a SF at the NBA level or not. I know some people do.

Could he be? Sure, to me he is honestly positionless, there isn’t much he can’t do, but if I had to slot him at a position it would be power forward, not because it will be his best position, but simply because of the players we will put around him.

My point was to answer his rediculousness with my own. Then I realized after I typed it, it is probably true what I said if we end up playing Zion at SF.

GA doesn't get to have the exclusivity of making baseless claims all to himself.

This is true but I’m not going off of his claims but my own, Ingram is the best small forward on the team

Also, in fairness, we've had this whole argument about whether Ingram is the best SF under 25 in the league or not, or even if it matters that much.

There are, famously, relatively few good small forwards in the NBA compared to other positions. That's why terrible ones like Hill get overpaid: people need them, and there aren't many. If Ingram is the best SF under 25, which is possible, then at least part of it is because the competition isn't very strong.

Yes I do think he’s better then Tatum. I think that he is now in a much better situation similar to Tatum he can thrive. People act as if he has proven nothing and blah blah. The only issues with him are litterally the same issues every single young player has until they develop their game. The difference is they aren’t a 20 year old SF scoring 20 ppg with FG 50% along with length that rivals some Giannis. I have been watching both since Duke and was a fan of Tatum when many here weren’t. Ingram has a higher ceiling then Tatum imo and next season will be the better player.

Me staying imo Ingram is the best SF under 25 years old is ridiculous? LoL because it doesn’t agree with your opinion? Sad people here still can’t get over they were on one side with so much hate in the kid they can’t even go back when he’s one of ours now! We very well might play Zion at SF and your point?

Watch Ingram AND Ball excel here in Nola. Different environment. Different coaching. Look at how Randle and Russell did when they left LA. Time will tell.

No. It's ridiculous because actual statistics don't back it up. We've went round and round on this multiple times already. If you want to choose to continue to ignore actual numbers just so you can spout nonsense then you won't be alone.

As I said it's impossible for Ingram to be the best SF under 25 at this point because he's not even the best SF on our team.

Good deal, I’m with you, I really like Ingram’s game and potential and have been saying that for a while. With a good coach and supporting cast he can be amazing.

I'm not saying Ingram is one of the best SF in the league, but I feel a lot of people inside and outside of NOLA are underestimating him.

Should we just pretend every player that is on our team is the best at their respective position? I don't see why Ingram being on our team has anything to do with the claim that he is the best SF under 25.

People can acknowledge that he has potential to be a good SF while also acknowledging his career so far has been a disappointment. We don't need to hype the guy's career up to fake levels (the best SF under 25) to still think he COULD be a good SF in the league going forward.

Just like every Pels fan, I hope the guy absolutely kills it here and becomes the best SF in the entire league. That doesn't mean we should go back in history and pretend he was something he wasn't in LA. There is a reason he got dumped along with nearly every asset the Lakers had in a package for AD. If he was on the same level as a guy like Tatum then the Lakers would have paid a lot less for AD or would have refused to include him at all.

The people over hyping Ingram are doing him a huge disservice. Let him come in and just play his game, have realistic expectations for him, and if he over achieves, AWESOME.

Some serious over selling and under selling Ingram going on. Par for the internet.

And no, Zion, who has yet to play an NBA game and has no mid range jump shot to speak of at this time, is absolutely not a better SF than Ingram right now.

Y'all..... Andrew Wiggins got a max contract. There is a less than 0% chance Ingram gets less than $25 mil per year unless 1) he has literally the worst agent to ever live (hint: he doesn't. Jeff Schwartz is great at his job) or 2) his blood clot issue is significantly worse than anyone is letting on, at which point do we want to pay him anyway?

    Tend to agree on this.

Someone could legitimately claim that Ingram is already the best SF to ever wear a Pelicans jersey (if Zion is considered not an SF).

It doesn't mean much. But with the SFs we've seen recently, the claim could be made.
    Good positive energy.

    But also, yo mama's fat.

Pretty much this, is my point of view.

In LA, Ingram was bad. He had a few bright upsides (can get his own shot, at least) but was disappointing in a bunch of areas and had an extremely flawed game. He was an inconsistent producer, a poor defender, a poor shooter, bad off the ball, and demonstrated poor feel for the game at times.

That doesn't mean he's doomed to stay there. He can improve, and as I've said probably 50 times since the trade was made, I hope he comes out this year and proves me wrong. I hope he plays hard on defense, improves his three point shooting, and becomes a more stable player. I'd love that.

But pretending his game is just spot on and doesn't need any work is just being wilfully ignorant.

Don't agree with that. Some players have it, whatever it is. Zion has it. Ingram doesn't.

Doesn't mean Ingram can't become a better player, but Zion just has a feel and a touch for the game that Ingram doesn't. I am pretty sure he is going to be better than Ingram in most ways the moment he steps on the NBA court.

I really really do think a lot of that was because he was in LA and freaking hated it, environment means a lot
