Thread: Best PG???

I'm really indifferent about it. Bennett is one of the only guys I'd be enraged if we took.

"I don't know if people know — I dislocated my pinkie finger. And [Tyreke] told me, 'You wanna go home or you wanna be here?' I want to be here. And he said, 'All right, then go tape it up and let's play. Let's go. We not stoppin' at no stores. Straight gas. That's what we do, just keep going.'"

It's cool if you don't want Burke. It's perfectly fine.

The reason I want Burke is because you mention AD playing with Jennings, what is the number one play you want our PGs to be able to do to most utilize AD?

The pick and roll. And Burke is very good at it and he can still get a lot better.

And most of all, I love Burke's killer instinct. The desire to take and make big shots, make big plays. It's what he does. It's what we need. What this team needs goes beyond just positional stuff. We need guys that want the ball in big moments, the game is never bigger than them. Guys like Burke, Oladipo, or Porter. That's my big 3 wants. McLemore kinda, but less than those other guys.

I think a lot of you will be upset when we do not take Trey Burke. What this team needs more than a point guard is a wing or center. We have 4 guys that can play point guard IMO in Vasquez, Rivers, Roberts, and Gordon. The only way we would take a point guard, is if he was something special like CP3. I'm sorry to say guys, Trey Burke is no CP3. He will be an average point guard in this league at best. I think his ceiling is Jameer Nelson and that is not what we want with the 6th pick. Then he may not even reach that comparison as his ceiling. We need an athletic point guard that can maybe not shut down some of the great point guards in this league, but can at least stay with them. If we add a point guard this offseason, I would rather one with experience and athleticism like Brandon Jennings. I think Jennings still has upsize and can become one of the better point guards in this league with the right situation. Look at his numbers for the Bucks and imagine them with AD, Anderson, and Gordon around him. He hasn't played with any big men that has the offensive capabilities of AD.

What is the reason you like Trey Burke so much? I'm watching these finals and I think I would rather Mario Chalmers than Trey Burke lol!
Your opinion on Burke is yours and nobody should have a problem with that however just because you think he's ceiling is that low doesn't mean it is. Likewise just because I think is ceiling is much much higher doesn't mean it that either.

To the point of who to draft. We are no where near the point where we draft for need. We need to take the BPA if that Burke we should take him if the organization feel it's not him when it's our pick we should draft somebody else.

Draft for talent; trade and sign fas for need.

I think this goes both ways. It's about opportunities that presents itself. In our case, need will not be there at 6. Porter will certainly be gone so BPA makes sense.

If you can draft for talent and need; that's easy; I'm saying when faced with a choice..
