Of course they are. No way Doc Rivers will go back to coaching a team that clearly was shopping him. Either they want him gone or he wanted to be gone. That doesn't change just cuz a deal wasn't done the first go around.

I'd love to get in there. If we can snag Bledsoe, would free us up to so something like move down and take Caldwell-Pope.

Woj says money is agreed to. They're talking again and only thing holding it up is a draft pick.

    This gets done in 24hrs.

Does this move in any way clear the way for Dwight to join Clipperland? I don't enough about this situtation's numbers to understand this.

No, he can't sign with the Clips but the rumor was that they would offer the Lakers Bledsoe and Griffin in a S&T for Dwight.

Mavs made trade 13th pick, old news but something not to forget

Anytime I've heard about Dwight going to LAC, it's been with Griffin's name attached as the reason LAL should do it so now.

Does the money work for the Clippers to do this:

    Paul
    Afflalo (for Bledsoe)
Pierce (assuming Celtics buy out and he signs for cheap to play with KG/Doc)
    Garnett
    Howard (S&T for Griffin)
    With Rivers as coach.

    Ugh.

I'm not sure why the Clips would make the Howard deal if they get Doc/KG. Can you think of a player better suited to teach Griffin how to play the game the right way than Garnett? Griffin may be an immature prima donna at this point, but there is no question the talent is there to be a dominant low post player. I just don't see the Clips parting with him.

Not only that, but I keep looking at the numbers. CP3 and Dwight would put the Clips into the luxury alone. I just don't see Sterling putting up that much cash.

Sterling is too cheap to pay the lux tax I think CP and DH can forget about playing in LA. if they want to play together it'll have to be either Orlando (ain't happenin') or ATL. The can make it work in Dallas but they'd be in the same situation Miami is in only worse role players.

If (more like "when") the deal with the Celtics get done, I think it secures CP3 in LA. That may end the CP3/DH pairing speculation.

We'd fill two holes at small forward and point guard, but give up our best bench player in the process.
Draft Anthony Bennett and I like that deal.

Something like: Coaches not being tradeable per CBA that was agreed to by all 30 teams

Yeah many are gonna blame Stern for this... its the CBA that killed this deal. But how does KG and Doc stay in Boston after this?

Lol, Chris Paul gets messed over by "basketball reasons" TWICE!

And if that's the case then it's really the Clippers/Celtics that killed this deal by not being more discreet about it.

So now the Clippers will likely send 2 1st rounders to Boston for them allowing Rivers out of his contract. In a few weeks, we will hear that the Clippers traded Jordan for Garnett. Wow! And we are all to believe they were not connected. What a farce. It is going to happen.

Clippers refusing to offer Boston compensation for Doc Rivers
Didn't Stern pretty much say they couldn't? I guess this deal has to "fall apart" to be put back together in a way that will satisfy the league.

Dunno how dead set Stern is on killing this. Really, it's LA offering a kicker for Boston to let Rivers out of his contract. If they just let him walk weeks from now, though, can Stern just halt him from signing a deal with LAC?
