never assume
Jason Smith not on flyer either. Guess he is trade bait too
He is not even a starter. Why is it hard to understand that it is odd that the organization would not even mention its highest paid player whom it referred to last year as its star in material that describes the key players on the team that the #6 pick would be joining?
Doesn't matter what they say now if they've already had conversations with a couple of teams and have potential deals already in place. His value and exit could be and probably already is locked in. At this point, we're probably just waiting on Dell to pull the trigger.
If Dell still loves Klay Thompson, a Gordon/Lopez for Thompson/Biedrins/Jefferson deal would cost the Pelicans about $4m in cap space this year and potentially save GS about $9m. Might make sense for both teams. We'd then have $20m expiring next season.
Or you could package 6/Jefferson for something to clear his salary and still go after Iggy.
So I'm guessing some people must have gotten a special press release because the press release on the Pelicans' site doesn't mention any players by name at all.

Has the wording been changed? If so, why?
Golden State has over $70m in salaries committed next season and need to resign Jack and Landry. Just to bring back the same exact team they'd be well over $80m. Would you pay the tax to bring back that team? If they want to avoid the tax and bring back Landry/Jack, going from Thompson to Gordon might be worth the risk, especially considering that if everything is right with Gordon, many might consider him the better player.
I'm not saying it's realistic. But I don't think you have to have Jedi powers to sell it.
I think Gordon gets traded to Wolves or Bobcats on draft night. Just a hunch.
lol bobcats. i don't think anyones ever left their heart in charlotte.
