He is not even a starter. Why is it hard to understand that it is odd that the organization would not even mention its highest paid player whom it referred to last year as its star in material that describes the key players on the team that the #6 pick would be joining?

Because he is tade bait. Dell has said multiple times they were not afraid to shop him in the offseason. Read John Reid's articles for a change

You summed it all up in one sentence/question.

One I still have not heard anybody give a satisfactory answer to. It means something.

It means trade bait. Eric's heart may have a new team. He going to leave anyway wants that contract expires in 3 years.

That even more reason to add him. You add trade value by adding value to the player. Behaving like you don't want a player only lower your ability to get more for him.

I think the writing is already on the wall. Value won't change now. besides the NBA can have a say in trade value as well. See Chris Paul.

What has Eric Gordon done here in 2 years that is earth shattering?

Doesn't matter what they say now if they've already had conversations with a couple of teams and have potential deals already in place. His value and exit could be and probably already is locked in. At this point, we're probably just waiting on Dell to pull the trigger.

If Dell still loves Klay Thompson, a Gordon/Lopez for Thompson/Biedrins/Jefferson deal would cost the Pelicans about $4m in cap space this year and potentially save GS about $9m. Might make sense for both teams. We'd then have $20m expiring next season.

Or you could package 6/Jefferson for something to clear his salary and still go after Iggy.

Sir you are preaching to the preacher!

The only logical reason I can think of for this is they don't want the fans getting accustom to Gordon. Which is something. This from a person that rarely buy into much.

This is kind of my point. What does that say that they aren't even trying to mask their opinions about Gordon?

So I'm guessing some people must have gotten a special press release because the press release on the Pelicans' site doesn't mention any players by name at all.

Golden State has over $70m in salaries committed next season and need to resign Jack and Landry. Just to bring back the same exact team they'd be well over $80m. Would you pay the tax to bring back that team? If they want to avoid the tax and bring back Landry/Jack, going from Thompson to Gordon might be worth the risk, especially considering that if everything is right with Gordon, many might consider him the better player.

I'm not saying it's realistic. But I don't think you have to have Jedi powers to sell it.

Probably changed due to the speculation. They probably realized it raised a lot of ???'s about Gordon, which really does nobody good - even if they know they're dealing him.

I think it isn't likely, but I also would have laughed at Washington taking Ariza/Okafor. A lot of GMs out there could talk themselves into a Gordon.
