Not replying to this post specifically, but just the thought of Doc coaching Austin.

That is the last thing Doc wants to do. It would be a no win situation. Every minute of court time would be criticized.

So violent, I can't take the criticism. Lol. I was only thinking if Doc wants to coach his son how could it happen. We all assume Doc won't be coaching here anytime soon. As for Dreaming its not that bad. Bledsoe is expiring and going to cost a bit to resign and you get rivers with good potential to me with a few years left on a rookie deal.

No offense, I agree with a lot of your post. I like throwing out ideas that have a little thought put into them. If we put our reasoning behind certain trade ideas people (not you guru) won't shoot it down so fast and hopefully you'll get more than it sucks. Like if I were a gm I wouldn't do it because....

The latest snag in this deal, which was re opened today is reportedly the Clippers finding someone to take on Jason Terry's 2 years/$10.7 million awful contract, or Lee's 3 years/$16.35 million contract. Anybody see us taking on one of these contracts? Only person I'd take one of those contracts on for is Bledsoe and obviously their plan is to offer Bledsoe/Griffin for Howard so there's no realistic option out there is there? They are going to need a 3rd team to facilitate this trade. Guru, what you got ?

That would've been their sure fire way of keeping Paul. I'm relieved it didn't go down because it up the possiblity of Howard in Clipperland.

No way Doc wants to coach his son like someone stated that is a no win and could potentially turn out bad for both no matter how good he becomes. I think Doc has exactly what he wants for his son and that is Monty who he endorsed as a coach and loves. No better place for Austin to be then in a small market with basically his uncle coaching him with as little pressure on him as possible.

I totally agree, I just mentioned it as food for thought.

Sterling is known as a frugal owner. I'm not surprised it didn't go through. The guy basically pulled a George Shinn. Committed to winning... yea right.

I don't see Howard staying in LA, he just isn't happy there. The other 2 aren't as much of a slam dunk as you think, but I think Chris more than likely resigns because of the extra year and extra guaranteed $$$. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see KG retire, and Doc go to the booth as an announcer.

This is what makes CP's constant "I just want to win a championship" quotes laughable. It'll never happen under Sterling. If he was committed to winning they would of made the trade and just took back Lee or Terry's contracts. They were already getting rid of their worst contract, so why not take back one of those? Chris won't b happy.

Clippers disputing this and I believe them.

You don't get this far in the process without knowing what Doc's salary demands are and agreeing to those. Clips said they were in agreement with Rivers but walked away because Celtics wanted additional draft picks and they felt comfortable with Brian Shaw or Byron Scott.

The next question is whether or not Clips would still pursue Garnett without Doc, since the parameters of that trade were pretty much agreed to by both teams. If Garnett is willing to waive his no trade clause, I could see Garnett for Jordan and a pick still going down if Celtics decide to rebuild still.

Garnett has said he will not waive the no trade clause without Doc going there. However, he and Pierce could make an agreement to go there is it becomes clear that Boston is going to waive PP.

I'd take Wojnarowski word over any P.R. statement the clippers release. The Clippers walked away from the deal even after Boston settled and settled and settled. This falls on the Clippers hands.

I just hope Bledsoe ends up on the Celtics so we could do a Gordon for Rondo and pieces trade. I know I'm in the minority but I love Rondo, but we would need a shooter/scorer at the 2 pretty badly.

we need that with or without rondo...badly
i'm with you on him though, one of my 2 or 3 favorite players, and he has a mean streak
i would trade a dozen iguodalas and jennings for one rondo

    RE howard, we disagree
no way he's leaving LA and all that money ($30MM)
he's too much of a wuss to take the heat that would come his way for bailing on another team, and running from a challenge

Nothing wrong with that I actually have thought about it a few times but would not want that to happen. Good thing is it wont happen. Would much rather give up the 6th pick haha. I want to watch Rivers develop I think the kid is going to be great.

I do not want Rondo after seeing how difficult it has been for Doc to coach him even with a team full of veterans. I have seen multiple videos of him freaking out and Doc even saying he does his own thing and doesn't listen sometimes. He has had to be pulled aside so many times by Pierce and Garnett to calm down. I think he would be horrible for this locker room and Monty. If he was so good Doc would not be trying to get out of Boston so quickly. I have heard many former players as analysts also say Rondo is a dribble hog that runs the clock down and mostly gets his players on catch and shoot which I have noticed now. He also provides little to no offense. Yes a lot of assists that would not have happened without 2 of the best sharp shooters ever along with a knockdown big man. I like Rondo but he is not someone I want disobeying Monty and running his own plays while having a bad attitude and constantly having to be coddled by a star to calm him down and shut up. Who does that here? Davis? Anderson? who he would probably punch. Rivers? Smith? Do not want this head case.

It's gone too far not to get done. I would not be surprised if it was done within 24-48 hours.
