I'm really warming up to the idea of drafting CJ McCullom, as well. Him, Len, or Burke I think will be the pick. But really, there's still a month left to go and individual workouts haven't even started yet, so who knows how things will shake up until then.
Point well taken, but I just see this trend of Monty and Dell emphasizing "high character guys" in the locker room. This isn't saying Shabazz is a 'bad guy' by any means, but he does have those characters flags with him. Same reason I don't see them considering Demarcus Cousins as a real trade option.
We don't really know how Bazz will be after getting paid, etc. but I can bet a fistful of mudbugs that he won't be as much of a headache as Cousins.![]()
I see Bazz's "problems" more as attitude that is transferable to the court than an attitude "problem". I'm just concerned about him getting owned on defense vs. the George's and Bron's.
Hahh, we can only hope he doesn't have the kind of problems Cousins has had so far in the league. On second thought, I think Bazz's situation is more comparable to the concerns about Harrison Barnes' before the draft, like him talking about how he wants to focus on his 'brand' coming out of high school/ being so highly rated in high school and people wondering if it went to his head too much. Hopefully Bazz can have similar success as Barnes has so far in the league.
As for Demarcus Cousins...I really wish the best for that dude. It's funny, I just saw this documentary about how service dogs were being paired with young veterans with PTSD to help them deal with emotional issues better and enhance their daily lives...D-Cousins definitely would be a good candidate for such a program. Whatever team he winds up with would be smart to focus on strategies for helping Demarcus the person, and I'll bet Demarcus the ball-player would no doubt benefit on the court, too.
