Rumor Bucks prefer Ellis over Jennings?

Marc Stein: And a free-agent rumble: There's a rising belief in exec circles that Bucks prefer to re-sign Monta Ellis over Brandon Jennings this summer

Marc Stein: Bucks still have coaching choice to make: Larry Drew or Kelvin Sampson. But in backcourt there is sense they prefer Monta/Redick next season

I know some of you all are high on Jennings, well this may lower the price.

I don't blame them... I'm no Jennings fan AT ALL, and I think Monta has always been an underrated player. Jennings has said he wanted a big market anyway right? Let some other team overpay that chucker.

they dont rather ellis over jennings as a player, thats impossible, jennings is only 22 or 23, the reason they wont try and resign jennings is because he has already stated he doesnt want to big there and wants to play for a big market team.

Jennings and big markets was Gordon's heart in Phoenix before Gordon's heart was in Phoenix. Jennings could've said that years ago, and it's going to always be as if he said it last night.

I mean, if Jennings could play for OKC, you think he'd balk just cuz it's a weaker market?

I have a feeling we will try and get Jennings. Is there other teams with cap space that need a PG?

i would only be ok with jennings if trey burke is not there at 6, if he was that would be dumb.

Really don't want Jennings. I wasn't too high on him and then I listened to that 247 podcast from a couple weeks ago with the Bucksketball guy on there, now I don't want him AT ALL.

I don't blame Milwaukee. Jennings is a head case. I don't even think he wants to be in Milwaukee anymore. He's too busy trying to get a spot with a big market team so he can fit in with the crowd.

Probably not (but then again, they have westbrook, why would he go there?) but we are not on okc level, far from it

I read they are putting all their cards in on Dwight. Rumor has it they are going to go after Jarrett Jack or Bayless

Exactly, once CP resigns in LA, Cuban is going to offer him the max.

But Ellis plays zero defense compared to Jennings who's a good defender.

Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams

Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston

Jennings at $8 million/year is fantastic value. I'd give him a Ryan Anderson contract, and see what he says. That still gives us $7 million for another guy, and we also have the MLE (about $5 million I think).

Yeah I think 4 years 36 million is the most I would give him. But not more. He's still young with alot of upside. If he improves his jumper he will be a tough guard. Then all we would need at SF is a Pondexter type who can shoot 3's and defend decently.

Why would this team want Jennings? The fit or something? Can someone post a link or explain why? I just never fully understood why would we want Jennings.

Over the past 2 years, there have been rumors that Demps covets Jennings. Perhaps that has changed, but that is the heart of the issue. That, combined with his athleticism, offensive abilities, and his ability to pick up the ball at 3/4 court to start the defense. He can also run the break. Obviously, he has his issues, but a guy like him just needs a guy like Monty to reel him in and teach him how to play more under control.

Jennings fits the profile of PGs Demps tends to favor looking back at past transactions.
