Their window with this group is closed. They won't get any better. They don't have enough cap room to bring in an impact scorer especially with Randolph's contract. He's only getting worse too. They need more offense and a better bench and it won't improve with Randolph's contract. He's not worth 17 million per season. They did fine without Gay and they'll be ok without an aging Randolph. Dump his salary and find a scorer and improve the bench.

Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams

Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston

If you Jimmer it, they will come.

Very impressive playoff run by the Spurs, especially considering so many key cogs are in their 30s. It looked like Father Time was catching up to them a few years ago, and they might have to get worse before they got better. A couple of tweaks later, they are back in the Finals.
Old fan. Tired fan. I want to believe.

Dude is $. Love me some Popavich.
Him and Kobe are the last 2 that really bring that old-school attitude and demeanor to the game. After they are gone, we're gonna be stuck with divas and "bestfriends".

Memphis will absolutely convince some poor Eastern Conference team that their overpriced *star* will be enough to get the ball rolling on them contending. See Gay, Rudy and Toronto. Look to see Randolph moved..with Memphis touting the Indiana model of contending against the Heat. Book it.

    The victi..*ahem* targets:

    Atlanta
    Boston
    Brooklyn
    Milwaukee
    New York

Speaking of Popovich, here's an article on Popovich and his building of young players.

Here's a small excerpt from the article.

    Young Spurs play, produce
Only it's not luck at all! Popovich gets the same unproven players every team gets -- in fact, he gets worse ones. The Spurs haven't had a lottery pick since Tim Duncan in 1997. Nevertheless, he plays young players relentlessly and aggressively all season long. He plays young unproven players when his team is ahead. He plays them when his team is behind. He plays them when his team is in first place, and when they're in last. He plays them in all four quarters and in overtime. And, most importantly, he does it year after year.

Splitter was once the Spurs' Valanciunas, if you will -- only the kind you draft 28th overall instead of fifth. Splitter has started 66 games for an elite team, and has played close to 4,000 NBA minutes. Popovich has had plenty of time to make clear what he wants from his big man. By crunch time of a conference finals elimination game, coach and player had built so much trust that Splitter was not just on the court, but was the lynch pin of the Spurs' successful campaign to thwart the pound-it-into-Zach Randolph Grizzlies.

Splitter is much bigger and gave Randolph fits.

There's a banshee lady at the Pacers game too.

    They're breeding.

Role players are letting Miami down big time.

"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."

Here they come, Refs helping too.

Holy cow, he fouled(James) out. Crawford &Mott may not be reffing for a while

Lefoul James. I dont see the Pacers moving on unless they win the next one as well. They have to put Miami on their heels to win.

Three teams playing out there. The NBA Refs have totally seized control of the game.

Laflop went 128 games without a foul out. Interesting stat.

Indecision can cripple even elite players.

So much for that whole "well, this is turning back to be Miami's series."
