Longtime fan of the Hornets, it's time to say goodbye to the NBA and its system

I know how so many of you "hornets" fans feel because like u I have followed the Hornets all of my life, from Charlotte to New Orleans, through OKC and now into becoming the Pelicans. I went from owning Larry Johnson jerseys to Glen Rice jerseys to Jamal Mashburn jerseys to Baron Davis jerseys to Chris Paul jerseys and now I have a brand new Anthony Davis jersey. I have followed this team through thick and thin and I love my team, this is my team, this is the team I have repped my entire life and I was proud to be a Hornets fan. Talk to anyone that even remotely knows me and they know I am a huge Hornets fan. This name change hurts a lot, it was and is painful. The Pelicans logo still makes me want to vomit even though i ended up buying a ton of Pelicans hats/sweaters/shirts for me and some close family.

Anyways, I'm sticking with this team and I hope all of my fellow Hornets fans join me. This is still the team we have followed, everything we have watched and invested our time and money into has led to this current team and we have watched that entire progression. The NO fans will never be able to completely erase the Hornets history off this team because the team records and the team history remains and that is at least something to hold on to.

And, to all of the NO fans acting like little b*&*s is this thread, please stop. Why do you care if Hornets fans are venting? Let them vent, within a month or two it will stop and they will have chose their path .Stop driving people away... believe me you need all the fans you can get so I would not be in the business of pushing away some of your most loyal fans.

Apparently it won't stop seeing as it's been 3 months since this very thread was started and yet we're still talking about it. I'm sorry people are 'saddened' by the name/color/logo change but it's done. You're either with it or you're not. If it's going to take some time, fine. If not, fine.

And if these most loyal fans were so loyal then they wouldn't let a name/logo change drive them away so easily now would they? What are they loyal to? A name? A logo?

If some want to keep 'venting' about it, they can do so right here.

I hold that stance that claiming this team as our own and finally wiping the stench of Shinn off the franchise is well worth a few disgruntled foreigners and out of towners.
